Although the on-line pictures of this place gave us the impression of being rather austere and modern-minimalist, the restaurant and adjoining outdoor seating area turned out to be quite warm and pleasant. We got there on a very busy night when the kitchen was backed up but the wait staff kept us appropriately posted. The food was definitely worth the wait: for openers, we had soft-shell crab, perfectly prepared. The killer dish of the night was a lamb shoulder confit, crisp on the outside with a melt-in-your-mouth interior, just delicious. An agnolotti dish was good though less memorable. Solbar will be on the itinerary the next time we come to Napa.
