“Nice pools, but overall just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW via mobile

We stayed at the hotel and had spa services.

The hotel: We chose this hotel because they have multiple pools. Other reviews said the lap pool was murky. It just seemed that the cement was discolored. I swam laps each day and didn't feel grossed out. The other pools were great. It is nice that each room has a kitchenette, and that they are grills and chairs around the grounds. Because the hotel is surrounded by roads and parking lots, it does get noisy. We drive around and looked at other places and their grounds were much nicer--they were surrounded by more nature, and the rooms had more privacy, but other places don't have a variety of pools. Someone said in a review that it's a glorified motel 6--I get what they are saying but I would still stay here again with family trip but not as a romantic getaway.

Spa service: we had 1 hour massages. The massages were good, but the massage room did sort of feel like a doctors office (linoleum floor with small area mats, and super bright light.) I tried to ignore that and still enjoyed the experience. As others have said in reviews, the changing area and other parts are outdated, but that doesn't bother me. It's not fancy but we had services here to take advantage of the discount to the hotel room.

Overall, I would go elsewhere for spa services, but if I was on a trip with the kids, we'd go here for the pools.

Great room, beautiful setting, within walking distance of everything we needed and out of some of Napa's busyness. We loved the pools and the room was very comfortable.

My only bit of feedback for the hotel would be that both the wifi and cell phone reception were very poor, making this a poor choice for a "working vacation". But if your goal is to be off the grid and to relax, this place is perfect.

We went for relaxation and wine touring. Yes it is an older hotel but it has been renovated. Nice kitchenette and grilling area. Beautiful area, close to shopping and restaurants. We had mud baths, mineral baths went in the hot tub and mineral pool! Felt like a bowl of jello! Wonderful wonderful place!!!!

The Calistoga Spa has a comfortable rooms with kitchenettes. It was recently renovated, and it's very family friendly. There are several pools, each with different temperatures of water. Excellent for swimming laps, there is a kids' wading pool, a warm pool and a hot pool. The spa has wonderful mud baths with volcanic mud (women's and men's bath houses are separate), and many varied packages that include a steam room, blanket wrap and various kinds of massage. The masseuses are excellent. They must treat their employees right, because we come back year after year and the same people are working there, and they remember us. The location is perfect for us: one block from the town's main street. When we've requested, we've been able to have the room ready early so our grand daughter can take her nap.

Room Tip: We've had good luck with all the rooms.

Looks like this older resort got a remodel. Our room size was great and we had a little kitchen area. We enjoyed the 3 spa pools and made use of the outdoor grill/picnic area. The price point was good. The reception staff, were just ok. They were not very welcoming and didn't really seem all that bothered to tell us more than they had to but they were not rude or anything. The life guard at the pool was far more customer service oriented than they were. That said, I would stay here again. I liked the location and the rooms and amenities were clean. I got the impression from the other guests that this place had a lot of repeat customers, some of them that had been coming back for 30 years.

Calistoga Spa has upgraded their rooms! They have 3 pools. Hot, warm, and cold pool you can swim laps. They also have a baby pool my kids loved when they were young. I love to start my day at their gym and swim some laps and then get lazy around the pool with a good book. They have massage and mud baths. It is great for families as well as adult couples. Each room has a kitchenette. Once you get there you never need to get in your car. Walk into town is a block away and you can food shop or go out to eat steps away.

My wife of 15 years and I decided to go on a short romantic getaway and we chose Calistoga Hot Springs . THIS PLACE IS MAGNIFICENT !!! We arrived a little early to find that we could use a locker for the pools..at NO charge !! So we were greeted with fresh huge thirsty towels. and we were told that our room would be ready around 1PM...and check in isn't until 3PM. The room was ready for us by 12 NOON !! ....That was the first Home Run. The second was the room when we entered. The rooms have been completely remodeled ! Everything was brand new in our room. It had a nice HD Flat screen TV on the wall , a very accommodating kitchen (with dishes included) ...also the shower was beautiful nice new tile and glass !! The bed was fabulous with supplied neck pillow and plenty of spare pillows to go around . There was nice reading lights on each side of the bed as well ... The blinds to the room could be closed off to make the room almost completely dark and were made of sturdy wooden slats...awesome.. We Can't say enough about this place The hot pools are exquisite ..and at night It is one of the most romantic places we have ever been to..The fire pit under the stars just ...sold...us. We will come back again and again...for years to come. WELL DONE CALISTOGA !! This was a Home Run of a getaway !! Right in the middle of the beautiful Napa Valley wine country..The Whites, Roseville , Calif.

Room Tip: All of the rooms here are fantastic..We have been going there for years and it just gets better ever...
