This was my first Mud Bath so I can't compare but I can say the mud was hot, the staff was nice and the place was pretty clean. I felt very relaxed when finished but wish I'd have chosen to get a message afterwards.

What a great decision to stay here. It's 50's ish charming, but updated. Room was great, good size, small kitchenette for coffee & snacks, outside BBQ if you choose. Located one block off the main street close to restaurants or for strolling. Sitting by the pools one day a worker was overhead on the trellis, he came down with a bushel of just harvested grapes and offered them to all guests. Perhaps the best grapes I've ever had, an unexpected surprise. On a price to value relationship you will be hard pressed to find anything better anywhere in the Valley. We definitely will be returning. Calistoga is much more laid back and friendly than Napa, Yountville or St. Helena. We visited several small production wineries. No crowds and great hospitality.

Room Tip: 2nd floor room behind the reception area have the high ceilings

This is our favorite spa and hotel. They have a kitchenette complete with microwave, dishes, etc. and grills outside if you want to barbeque. They have a mudbath, ( which is our favorite) and 4 pools of different temperatures and sizes. Their jacuzzi is so big, it can accomodate maybe 15 or more people at the same time. And the price is just right!

We had only one day and night o spend on our Staycation and chose to visit Calistoga Spa and Hot Springs. The Mud Baths, followed by a massage was so nice. We loved the fact that we could fall into our bed afterwards and just really relax. The rooms were very large. And the amenities were great as well. Next time we visit, we will bring some appetizers to store in the room refrigerator and have some cold beverages waiting for us after our spa experience.
The next morning we used all three of the Thermal Mineral pools. They were a great way to get the body moving before the drive home.

Room Tip: Second Floor for sure. All the top floor rooms had very tall ceilings and made it feel really big.

Green Features: Very conscience about recycling. They had signage everywhere for where and how to conserve and recycle.

Hi Pikesonbikes, Thanks for the great review. You summed up the mineral water experience. People love to bring their own food and beverages and use the patios and BBQ's. We hope to see you again soon, Mike Lennon - GM

Fall is the perfect time to visit Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, but let's face it, any time is. This was about our 7th trip there, and once again, it did not disappoint. The best thing about this place is the lovely area around the pools, with the maturing landscaping, grapes hanging from the vines on the pergolas, palm trees swaying, etc. It’s nice to soak in the pools and then relax at the tables or lounge chairs all day. Sitting by the gas fire pit at night with guests speaking a variety of languages, was very pleasant. Apparently, the hotel was completely booked, but the pool area did not seem as crowded as it had on previous visits. It was so relaxing to just sit and stare.

One thing that I did differently this time was that I took the water aerobics class offered on Saturday morning in the 80-degree mineral water pool. Stacy taught an excellent class. It was the perfect hour-long vacation exercise to do. It gently worked the muscles, without the impact on the joints. It was a good workout, and I actually felt better because of it the rest of the day. After talking with Stacy, she agreed to come back and teach again on Sunday, and again, it was a great class. I can definitely recommend taking water aerobics here on your vacation. It will make you feel great and it’s really worth it.

This is a great weekend getaway place when you need to relax in a soothing environment. The hot mineral water pools seem to just melt the stress away. I can’t wait to come back.

Room Tip: The king bed rooms above the conference room and in the building at the far end of the pool have not...

My husband loves hot springs and convinced me to stay at Calistoga Hot Springs in Calistoga, CA.
My or my, this was a terrific place!
The rooms were very modern and appears to be updated.
The bed was comfortable and the room was fully equipped with a full kitchen.
The shower experience was divine with a walk in shower with a pebble mosaic shower pan bottom.
The Hot Springs themselves were great! No sulfur smell here!
The pools were large and very nice!
There was a long outdoor fire pit that seated about 12 people around and perfect for late night conversation.
The exercise room was fully equipped and I took advantage of this during our stay.
All in all, I would recommend this place to everyone!

Green Features: There were even recycle bins in the hotel room which I have never seen before. Since I am from Seattle area, we recycle anyway and I found it no bother at all!

I always look forward to coming to the Calistoga Spa. I love relaxing by the pool, meeting some of the guests. The remodeled rooms are very nice, beds are very comfortable, new shower is spacious for two people. We always bring food so we can use the kitchen, most places don't offer that. The town is so pleasant to walk around, love the kitchen/book store and the bargain thrift shop has many interesting things to look at and reasonably priced. The museum is a short walk and so full of history about the town and its people. Wish I could afford to come more often. Til then.

Room Tip: Go many times so you can see for yourself.

Green Features: Glad to see that you practice this, I don't need my bath towels washed everyday.

Hello Steve, Thank you for the positive review. We are blessed to have a loyal fan base and look to continue providing memorable experiences. Our water reduction plan is crucial and we appreciate your participation to help Calistoga during the drought. Cheers, Mike Lennon
