“Nice new hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is a nice new hotel in an otherwise uninteresting city in the desert. But they have managed to have green lawns and they are lucky to have a golf course next door which is also nice to look at. The staff at the hotel are first class and they are doing an outstanding job: they are friendly and helpful and they pay attention to your needs. Particularly Alyssa at the front desk was outstanding.

This was an excellent stay. It was by far the ‘best” Best Western that We’ve stayed in, “Wendi‘, the front desk host was superior with her hosting skills and set a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. She was very helpful with any question we had as well. This Hotel is around a year old, but it felt like it was built yesterday. The staff keeps it looking brand new and extremely clean. The accommodations are of the utmost quality and Wendi and the staff made it comparable to the Radisson, Marriot, or the Hyatt Regency. The breakfast was good and satisfying and kept us sustained for a half of a day. We were only going to stay two nights, but decided to stay three. This Hotel gets are five star rating. And I would highly recommend the stay for any and everyone. Thank you :)

This hotel is very new and very nice, considering how bad the surroundings are. Melissa at the front desk was friendly and made sure all was well. Most of the guests appeared to be construction contract workers. Only problem I had was that there were no decent restaurants within a mile.

This hotel is very new and very nice. Staff is friendly and made sure all was well. Most of the guests appeared to be construction contract workers staying for the week. Only problem I had was that there were no restaurants within a mile. Finally ended up with a pizza delivery from Jesse's, very good.

Considering the location and surrounding area - this Best Western gets a 4 from me.
Opened in March 2012 - 100 % Smoke Free Policy

Booking was fairly easy - online or phone (AAA Members get a discount)
Check-in: 3:00PM
Check-out: 11:00AM

Stayed here for 2 nights (12/30 & 12/31) at $80.99/night for two queen sized beds. The things we took advantage of during our stay was definitely the free WiFi, breakfast and fitness center.

Although small, the front lobby is nicely decorated. Once you step inside the front doors, you will see the area where breakfast is served with tables & a tv on the wall. Then to the right is the business center and vending machines.

The rooms were a decent size decorated with dark browns and natural colors. The wall art was photographs of the desert. The showers had nice water pressure and we had a large flat screen TV so tons of channels. You can easily control the room temperature inside.

The breakfast was decent! They don't have food sitting in the trays and they will actually make you the items upon request so it's hot & fresh. You can MAKE your own waffles and there was bacon, sausage, eggs, omelets, cereal, English muffins, bagels, coffee, orange juice, apple juice etc.

The front staff was also very friendly and personable and even found myself chatting with the lady when we were checking out.

The only negative that I would point out was that the walls were thin. We could hear kids running around upstairs as well as our neighbors talking in the mornings. This wasn't too bad as it didn't happen late at night or in the wee hours in the morning so we were already awake! Thankful there weren't any rowdy guests while we were there.

Overall - if you are in the middle of no where (California City) and need a place to crash... or a hot shower .... you know where to go! Note it's also 5 minutes away from where you can ride your dirt bikes & off-roading toys.

Internet too slow - nice to have, but must have more bandwidth and speed to support business users. Second, problems with getting receipt emailed or from the web-site. Tried a few times to email, but still haven't received from the hotel. Business travelers need these.

Staff was extremely courteous & helpful. Room decor is gorgeous, very clean & spacious. Beds are uber comfy! Showers/bathroom are way modern. Fridge & microwave in room was a plus. Only real complaint was our air conditioner had a heck of a time starting up. Would definitely recommend staying on an upper floor as you can hear some noise of people above you.
