“Loved this Embassy Suites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

First of all, every member of the staff makes you feel like a valued guest. They cater heavily to those who are flying out of SFO in some very significant ways.

1. They do breakfast setup (cold items) a full 30 minutes prior to breakfast. I saw many travelers benefit from this very kind and thoughtful gesture.
2. Their workout room is open 24 hours and all of the equipment works. So whether you fly in from Cleveland and can't sleep in past 4:00 am Pacific time, or whether you just like an early work out - you are in.
3. Their manager's reception include plenty of healthy snacks (wonderful for road warriors).

Aside from that, you will get all the typical Embassy Suites ammenities (two-room suite, fridge and microwave).

The setting is a drop dead pretty location right next to the San Francisco Bay. (Yes, we enjoyed a glass of wine and watched the planes take off and land at SFO.)

I just can't think of anything but nice things to say about this hotel and our stay.

Room Tip: If you can get a bay or lagoon view - do so.

We ended up spending a night at SFO unexpectedly and were pleased to find a reasonable rate at the Embassy Suites. We waited at least 15-20 minutes for our shuttle from the airport & then waited 15 minutes to check in at the front desk (it was 10pm at night!). We did eat dinner in the restaurant and the food & service was decent there. No complaints there. In the morning we went downstairs around 9am for breakfast. The lines were insane. We waited in line more than 30 minutes to get omelets & fresh pancakes. Not fun when you have young kids who are hungry. After breakfast we wanted to leave our luggage with the front desk while we explored the city. At 11am we waited in line at the front desk for more than 15 minutes just to drop off our bags.

The staff is pleasant enough but not particularly hurried. They are definitely understaffed & they need to improve the flow at breakfast.

Our room was fine but overall I find this property lacking due to the slow service. I guess that is why the room was priced as well as it was...

My husband and I arrived at the hotel at 1:00 p.m., and I was warmly greeted by Sean. I had requested an early check-in, and he happily told me our room was ready. Sean offered me breakfast vouchers; I had to decline since we needed to check out at 5:00 a.m., but he told me coffee would be available at that time.

We had a bay side room and it was very modern, clean, and appeared to have new carpet. We had plenty of amenities, and the bed was comfortable. We had a small balcony...standing room only, very narrow, no room for a chair, but that's okay, it was nice nonetheless to be able to open the sliding glass door. The door itself was dirty, so my husband cleaned it off with a towel so we had a clearer view when it was closed. I imagine keeping the bay side windows clean is a lot of work, but maybe housekeeping could clean them when they know the room will be occupied?

The grounds around the hotel are well kept and manicured, and there is a terrific walking trail by the bay. It really is a beautiful area, including the hotel's lobby and atrium.

The gal checking several of us guests out in the morning at 5:00 a.m. was apologetic that she was having trouble printing out receipts, but she was never once flustered, we all received our receipts, and she made sure to point us in the right direction for coffee. The airport shuttle was right on time, and the drivers we had from and to the airport were both professional and friendly. I will not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Bay side rooms are wonderful for the view, but the airport is right across the bay, so if the sound...

pick this hotel if travelling to SanFrancisco. The airport shuttle will take you to the nearest BART station at the airport and you can travel into the city The hotel is clean and staff are friendly. The view from your room is spectacular and great walking path is easily accessible. the breakfast is amazing. If you want an omelet be in line right at 6am on weekdays. it is well worth getting up for. I would definitely book this hotel again.

Room Tip: ask for one with a view of the water

I travel regularly to SF for business and have now found my new favorite hotel. It's conveniently located, the rooms are spacious and quiet, and the benefits of having a prepared breakfast and evening reception are nice touches. All the staff with whom I interacted were courteous and helpful. Par for the course in the area, parking is expensive and Wi-Fi is not complimentary unless you are a Gold HHonors member or higher. It would be great if they had complimentary Wi-Fi in common areas. The pool is nice, next to a small fitness room, but the view out the back is fantastic! I ran a few times on the trail behind the hotel and just love being right at the water's edge. Overall, a great value for business or family travel.

The location of the hotel is very convenient when attending a conference/meetingat one of the oher hotels. The breakfast was convenient and great. Staff were very friendly. The waterfront sidewalks provide a great running/walking route.

Room Tip: Higher room away from the center of the hotel as they prep for breakfast

I often travel to the San Francisco area for business and have tried several mid-range hotels throughout the last year. Since my clients are not located in the city of San Francisco, I need a spot that is easily accessible to the 101 and is mid range between South SF and San Mateo. This is my new spot.

The set up of the Embassy Suites is the same as any other Embassy Suites - the central 'mall-like' atrium, sizable rooms with a separate living room area, mid-range bathroom amenities.

The standouts for this Embassy Suites:
- It is located on a running/walking path with a fishing pier. The path is probably about 2 miles long and runs along the water which is a lovely view and feels safe.
- The hotel offers a shuttle to/from the airport
- The hotel offers a shuttle to/from Burlingame Shopping/Dining District. Burlingame is a fun little place to get good cuisine and do boutique shopping. It's also a bit of a pain to park there, so the shuttle makes it nice
- The gym seemed really impressive (i didn't take a good look at it - ran outside instead)
- The indoor pool also seemed nice, but I personally don't like the fact that it is also located near the atrium; so if I decide to go for a swim, people eating their bagels and orange juice can gawk
The restaurant/bar had a good wine & beer selection. Plus you can take your drink on the patio & have a nice view.

The drawbacks
- Parking. Really? Charging for parking? That's a little nutso I thought.
- Not-free wifi? Really? As a business hotel you are going to charge for in-room Wifi?
- It's an Embassy Suites. There are no surprises here -- which is a good thing if you travel a lot and just want a night's rest. If you are looking for something kitchy - this is not the spot for you.

Room Tip: Ask if any of the room's have a water view.
