“Awesome hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2006

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights from Oct 16-19.

Here are the good things.

- hotel was clean
- wireless internet was included
- free breakfast. The belgium waffles were to die for.
- rooms were big and very comfortable.
- view of the bay was outstanding and you can watch the planes take off and land at sfo.
- there were enough restaurants in the neighbourhood that you didn't need a car
- free shuttle back and forth to the airport

The only bad thing for us was our room was right beside the back exit door. It was loud when it closed.

  • Liked — The Belgium Waffles
  • Disliked — Location of our room. But, we never asked to be moved.

My wife and I visited our daughter who lives in San Francisco but stayed in nearby Burlingame at one of our favorite hotels. The hotel is nearly new and is clean, neat, well-run and not expensive for the weekend traveller (AAA rate of $99 on Saturday). The rooms are fairly large and well appointed. Included is a generous serve-yourself breakfast with choices of fruits, cereals, drinks, waffles and so forth. The hotel is conveniently located just off the Bayshore Freeway and fronts on the SF Bay. There are many excellent restaurants nearby such as Kincaid's (also on the Bay) and Capellini's in downtown Burlingame. We always recommend this hotel to our frineds.

  • Liked — Clean, neat, convenient location
  • Disliked — Nothing
  • Tips/Secrets — Try nearby Kincaid's for great seafood, atmosphere and viw of the Bay

This is a great hotel in a sea of chains in Burlingame. It's fairly new, I believe it was built around 2003, in a chateau-like style. The lobby is tastefully done with traditional decor and earth tones. The room was the same, traditional decor, earth tones and muted florals. Granite in the clean, new bathroom and a remote-controlled thermostat. Having decided not to lug around my laptop on this vacation, I was happy to see a complimentary PC with free internet access in the library area off the lobby.

The entire property, including the room, was very clean and well maintained (the property is non-smoking, which is a big plus). We requested a Bay view, and got... half a Bay view on the left side of the window, the other half being a view of the property next door. That was well enough for us as we ended up checking in later and had to leave early for the flight. There seems to be ample free parking, which is great after the shock of parking costs in the city.

My only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin. We could hear low mumblings next door and water running through the pipes was loud. Otherwise, this will be our hotel of choice near SFO.

  • Liked — Convenience to SFO - off-highway access to airport!
  • Disliked — Thin walls...
  • Tips/Secrets — Check their site for best rate specials, in addition to travel sites.

Excellent breakfast, awesome rates, charming rooms, great view of the bay (if you get the bay view). We had a microwave, small refrig, and coffee service which just added to an already comfortable room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for any occasion.

  • Liked — nicer than most Las Vegas Hotels
  • Disliked — that we couldnt stay longer

The price and location is right. The hotel is clean, comfortable and in a great location (avoiding bridge tolls and traffic). We really enjoyed our stay. The room was quiet with a terrific view.

The only problem we had was that when we arrived late (and we knew we would) the crib was not in the room. When my husband called to ask for a crib, he was told there was none available? by the front desk (he didn't believe him). We did not have a comfortable rest and this definitely put a damper on things.

The breakfast was a good start to the day. I liked having the waffle maker and the yogurt and granola (they had good granola).

We drove into San Fran so we can't comment on the shuttle. Sunday we got free parking near Union Square. Driving in San Francisco (up the steep hills and down them) is something that you shouldn't miss out on. It was my favorite part of the trip ;o) hee hee and I'm a city girl (from the Bronx) but never saw anything like this. So drive in one day (no tolls from the hotel) and have some good ole fashioned free fun. My son, 11, loved it.

We would definitely return but if we needed a crib, we'd give a reminder call. Go, you won't be disappointed!!!

  • Liked — Location and beds
  • Disliked — Lack of Crib availability
  • Tips/Secrets — Drive into San Fran (if you get an early start) and drive the steep hills. Also, visit the Vista after the Golden Gate Bridge and also go on the road to the right (before return back) it goes up a huge hill with awesome views of the bridge.

The Bay Landing was a fabulous find! The hotel is new, and everything in the lobby, hallways, and room was in excellent condition and very clean. We paid $10 extra for a deluxe room, and had an extremely spacious room with windows on two sides and a beautiful view of the SF Bay. The beds were great (and the bedding was lovely), and the recessed reading lights over each bed was a very nice touch. The hotel is so near SFO that you don't even need to get on the highway (a real plus, given Bay Area rush hour traffic) but it was well soundproofed. The continental breakfast included lots of fresh fruit and other options. The front desk staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We've stayed at other SFO airport hotels, and this is by far the best!

  • Liked — clean, beautiful room with great beds
  • Disliked — some hallway noise
  • Tips/Secrets — if you'd like a nice view, pay the extra $10 for a deluxe room
