“Clean. Friendly. After a little prodding - a good value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We over-nighted there because we had an early check-in for a 08.00 flight to Europe and didn't want any delays getting out of the City due to the Marathon.

Nice friendly staff, clean room, nice desk for work, do-it-yourself laundry facilities (it was nice to go home with CLEAN laundry!), quick and efficient room service.

I was getting some laundry change at the front desk and I overheard one of the desk agents tell a walk in what the rack rate was - which was $60 less than the price I booked online (thanks, Hilton 'best rate'). I mentioned this to the agent helping me, and she immediately offered the lower rate. That was nice, still - check your pricing, folks.

I ordered the 'B&B' option when I booked...it was about $10 additional (total) for two of us. I think if we had ordered our breakfast a la carte, it would have been about $40 total...so B&B is a good way to go, when offered.

The place was packed with folks headed to the 49er game (even at 06.00)...it was a fun atmosphere - yet still quiet.

Overall, a good experience.

Room Tip: Elevators can get busy...try the ground floor.

Very consistent w/ HGI's all over the country. Clean, comfortable. The service was competent (if a bit distracted). Free, fast internet. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Surprisingly little airplane noise!

The rates were a bit on the high side, but hey, it's the Bay Area...

Location is very good. Near SFO (5 min). Easy trip into the city (drive to the BART station at Millbrae and take an $8 round trip + $2 for parking).

For food/fun, drive over the 101 into Burlingame (< 5 min). Nice small town feel. I suggest the Steelhead Brewery on California. Park across the street in the Caltrans parking...

Room Tip: High-floors on East side have partial views of incoming/outgoing aircraft - pretty cool if you'r...

Although the room rate is higher than in other hotels in the same area, it is excellent value for money. The hotel is in close proximity to SFO and provides free bus shuttle connection. The rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfortable and wifi is free. The hotel has a small Laundromat, a good gym and a small pool. Our dinner at the restaurant was also fine. Service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

On each of our three trips to Hawaii we stayed at a different hotel near SFO airport for a one night stop-over. Compared to the other two (Holiday Inn Airport North and The Dylan Millbrae), the Hilton Garden Inn was clearly the best. Newly renovated and quiet! room, friendly service, good shuttle connection to the airport.

We did not use the Hilton breakfast as we returned to the airport quite early. As we knew we might be hungry in the early morning due to the jet lag, it was important for us to be able to get food at any time. There is a small shop in the Hilton, but even better for us there is Lyanne's Cafe next door at the Red Roof Inn. We walked over and had a full American breakfast, which was very good and the serice very friendly, there at 5am.

Should we have the chance to return to Hawaii or SFO, we would definitely choose the Hilton Garden Inn as our stop-over hotel again.

We stayed for one night prior to a flight. Hotel was easy to find, check in was fast and friendly, dinner in the hotel's restaurant was very reasonably priced and the food was delicious. (Pesto chicken sandwich, burger, both with fries). We had reserved the bed and breakfast rate. Great breakfast. Buffet style cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, bread, pastries as well as a cooked to order hot breakfast. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Upsides: On the phone, front desk staff was the friendliest I've ever encountered. They went out of their way to make sure we'd have connecting rooms for our kids and were very sweet. Free shuttle from the airport was clean and convenient. Rooms were good size and the beds were comfy. Managed to get breakfast included as part of Hilton Gold. Otherwise, it would have been ridiculously overpriced. Love the 24 hr convenience shop in the lobby and the fact that they have room service. Free parking!

Downsides: Noisiest heating and A/C unit ever!! Wakes you up every time the thing comes on. Cleaning staff ignored the "hang up your towel to reuse it" offer. Some towels on arrival had schmutz on them. Ew! In person, desk staff was a bit grumpy, and restaurant staff liked to make themselves scarce. Room keys kept malfunctioning. We had to get new ones at the desk almost every day. Postage stamp sized pool.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels around SFO, and this was my best experience by far. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet, front desk staff were competent and friendly, and the shuttle bus was uncrowded and handled my extra luggage quite well.

I didn't eat in the hotel, but went to Kincaid's, just a 10 minute walk away. Their happy hour made for a fine early dinner before a long trans-Pacific flight the next day.
