“An adequate stay at the RR Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Have been staying here for 6 nights, and found it to be a good place to sleep in. Staff always very friendly and helpful. The number of towels wasn't a problem, just went to reception, asked for more towels, and got them faster than light, no fuss, no problems. All meals you'd need is available at the 24-hr diner, independent of the hotel, but in the same building. They have LARGE portions... and very very friendly staff, as well. Internet works as it should, that is, had no problems at all with it :) which is more than one could say about most hotel chains. I'd recommend this hotel.

Since we had an early flight, we stayed at the "Red Roof" so we could leave the car for the duration of the trip. When we arrived, parking was non-existent and we had to park in an illegal spot (and move the car to a safe spot the next morning before boarding the bus.) The room was just OK, nothing special, but good enough for a quick night's sleep. There was coffee in the lobby in the morning, but no breakfast items. Almost all hotel's offer a quick bite, but not this one. The transport to the airport was efficient. It was by far the most expensive hotel on our trip and certainly not the nicest one.

The three of us ended up having to stay an unplanned extra night in San Francisco, chose this place off the list at the airport and arrived at about midnight without any bags. The room was upstairs on the third floor, had two queen beds, there were three of us. It was clean and tidy and quite adequate for our requirements. Not flash by any means but this is reflected in the price. The only thing I would say is that they knew there were 3 people but there were only 2 bath towels in the room which could sleep 4 people. They have a free shuttle to the airport so that was a bonus.

Well what can i say, I have stayed at alot of hotels in my life, but this one tops the cake in the best way ever. My wife had a veterinarian conference in San Francisco from June 17, 2014 to June 22,2014. We had booked our hotel at the Red Roof Inn in Burlingame, CA. When we first arrived we had checked into our room, my wife had noticed a strange noise coming from the bathroom and noticed that there was a leak coming from the ceiling, we called the front desk and quickly and immediately they made the best arrangements and moved us to another room and began to fix the situation on the spot. Not only did they look out for us but when I tried to connect to the internet and was unable to the hotel was able to help me fix the problem and help me connect, but the best of all was when it was time to check out and my wife and I were packing up the room and getting ready to check out, my wife ended up leaving her favorite pillow at the hotel in our room. I called the hotel and notified them of what had happened, they transferred me to the general manager and I spoke with him. He turn around and went out of his way to make sure my wife was able to get her pillow by shipping it to us. He is by far the greatest manager I have3 ever had the pleasure of speaking with. We live about 500 miles away so he was able to get my wife's pillow back home to us with in 2 days. If you ever go to Burlingame and need a hotel the Red Roof Inn is the spot to be. Not only that but the got the best diner there Leann's. When we needed towels and other needs the staff was always there to take care of you and if they didn't have what you need they always will go above and beyond the call. Any one who doesn't stay there would be a fool not to its the greatest out there. We will be back for the Beer and Bacon Festival and rest assure The Red roof Inn will be our only hotel when we go up to the bay area. So as I conclude this review let me say thank you to the staff and crew of the Red Roof Inn in Burlingame, CA and to the GM Jack i thank you all very much and I will see you all soon.

Need a quiet place with easy, no-fee parking for a day or two? Choose the second floor and planes are not to keep you up at night. Rooms are delightful with wood floors; there's coffee in the lobby. The adjacent small restaurant has decent meals. Staff including housekeeping is friendly.

Room Tip: It's a multi-story hotel. We chose the second floor and had outside elevator to find/exit room e...

A 3 day weekend when we left and even weeks ahead of time I had a hard time finding a motel room where Sleep Park Fly was available and not booked solid. Had to pay for an additional day of parking since we were gone 15 days.

Nice room reasonably expected room and with a few exceptions that night was quiet. Asked for the 3rd floor away from the ground floor traffic. Went to bed early so we could get an early shuttle ride to the airport.

I asked about where they wanted the long term parking and parked where they said. BIG MISTAKE! Under trees which filled the hood area full of leaves that I had to get out before driving home and several windshield washings of the wipers before I could safely drive. Same with trunk, the area exposed when the lid opened was jammed full with leaves that tumbled into the trunk when I opened the lid. I suspect that those "in the know" park away from the trees and perhaps on the other side of the building. I should have been more observant of the litter under the trees in that area.

Did have a lunch in the restaurant at the end of the building. A bit more expensive than I would have thought but good food without driving whether you wanted American or Asian.

Should have driven the 3 or 4 blocks to the restaurant that we chose for early dinner and skipped lunch as I had to park several blocks away after dropping my wife in a fulll large parking area in Burlingame and we were able fortunately to get a small high table to eat on in the bar in spite of a large crowd waiting for tables at 5 PM. Saturday afternoon.

Bus to airport was fast and came on time the next morning.

However it was well over 30 minutes - nearer 45 minutes of waiting for the bus when we got back from a 12 hour flight from Frankfurt and 24 hours awake coming from France and waited for the bus that was supposed to be every 30 minutes. Got a bit concerned that we could end up having to pay to get back to the Red Roof Inn. Perhaps slow due to Saturday afternoon crowds...

Will probably park for a trip there again. Particularly for a flight in the early morning when getting to the airport from the San Jose area can be a traffic nightmare. Rather know that we will get to the airport on time for a flight than fight freeway traffic on 101 or 280.

Some cleaning of the parking lot area would improve the looks of the area and closing the garbage area with some higher walls would improve the view from the restaurant...

Only in San Francisco for a day or two? Need an inexpensive, clean, safe place to stay while you are out exploring the city? The Red Roof in Burlingame is an excellent value. It looks like a multistory motel, which it is. The thing is, the rooms are very clean, free internet that actually works, the staff at check in are polite and efficient, free shuttle service to the airport which also has a BART station, and it's very affordable compared to regular San Francisco room rates. The Bart takes about 20 minutes to downtown and a return ticket is about $17. The attached restaurant serves decent breakfast at reasonable prices as well. It's almost too good to be true. We would definitely stay there again if we only had a couple days in S F.
By the way, people don't wear flowers in their hair anymore...

Room Tip: Higher floors not facing pool are quieter.
