“Great inexpensive weekend stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

After reading multiple reviews, I decided to take a chance on this property, as I needed a cheap place to stay while attending a weekend conference. Very glad that I did! As the other reviews indicate, the exterior is nothing to write home about, but the inside is particularly pleasant and comfortable. The management obviously makes an effort, and it shows. Had a first floor room, and while there was 'floor noise' from the room above, it wasn't a problem. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the blue light on the television - it is VERY pervasive. I did have a sleep mask, which helped, and for night two I rigged up a makeshift cover. Overall it was a great stay - decent breakfast, small restaurants/shops across the street, centrally located - I would stay here again.

I was very surprised. Rooms were very nice updated and clean. A very nice place to stay for the price. Outside looked clean and neat as well but inside rooms were very nice.
More of a 4 star room. Bed was very comfy. I was pleased and will stay there again.

The exterior looks not so good but the interior are very nice recently refurnished the rooms have a good size, beds are very comfortable nice & clean bathrooms, flat TV good free internet. Good coffee and bread in the morning but unfortunately no eggs and fruit, the cost are a little expensive but the location are OK.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

A basic hotel with no fancy amenities such as pools but good size rooms with a decent desk. Mine was on the first floor street side but from 10-7 it was nice and quiet. Mine had a microwave and mini frig. The included breakfast was basic but adequate: hot drinks, juice, cereal, bagels, toast and some pastries. In the same building there is a nice breakfast/lunch restaurant but I didn't bother with that. Fellow at the front desk was friendly. Across the streets at the lights there is a Subway and an Asian restaurant. I didn't notice any soda machines but I didn't ask either. Not bad for convenience depending on where you are going in LA.

This appears to be an older property but my room here was an updated standard King room. Granite counter top for the sink and granite enclosure for the shower/bath. Microwave and small refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. A good value for the money. It favorably compares to Best Western.

I read these reviews before we left, and I agree with most of them. The place is not impressive on the outside, but better on the inside. They've really tried, with deep burgundy carpets, crown molding and dark shiny furniture, including an armoire (so, no closet). But there are those signs--a big burn mark on the carpet, a cigarette stain on the sheet, peeling paint near the floor in the bathroom--that make it a two star motel.

I did find the manager to be nice and friendly, but the walls were thin and I could hear a woman coughing for a long time at three in the morning, and then she had a long conversation with her man friend (husband? somehow one doesn't think so). There is a bright blue light on the TV, but I always bring earplugs and an eye mask for overnight stays, so I was okay.

The room was clean--we saw no hair anywhere. But as I was sleeping, I thought I smelled smoke. Our room was non-smoking, but there are three smoking rooms (according to the manager), so maybe we were getting some of that.

It wasn't bad for one night, and there was a simple Chinese place across the street a ways that we walked to for dinner, so the location met our needs.

Great for the price you pay. Rooms are very clean. Decent continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi was pretty strong in our room. The only knock I have on this place is the location. If you have a car (which upon hindsight, we should have rented one) it's not bad. We did Hollywood, Universal Studios and Warner Bros. while we were there, of which those places are actually pretty close. But the motel is nowhere near the subway. Could have saved ourselves probably $50 in cab rides, since Hollywood and Universal are right adjacent to subway stations.
