I stayed here a couple of nights for a business trip. I initially was a little doubtful about how it would end up because they placed me on a first floor room, so I was expecting a noisy night. On the contrary, I had the best sleep in this hotel than I ever had on my business travel in the recent weeks. Room service was pretty good and prompt (about a 15 minute wait). The room was very clean and seemed recently updated. I will definitely use this hotel when I am in Burbank again for business.

For those who are cost conscious, there is no self-parking, so each guest must use the $26/night valet parking service.

the Hotel is very nice and clean. Beautiful rooms at fair prices. Valet parking is mandatory at $26 a nite which seemed high. room service was very good but somewhat expensive and seating in the restaurant was very limited.

  • Liked — clean large attractive rooms
  • Disliked — limited restaurant seating.

I stayed at the Amarano for one night in August - it was the night of my wedding. I was not impressed. It was hardly a bad hotel - it's certainly clean, the rooms are fairly well appointed and if you're into hotels for this reason, the entertainment system is top-notch.

However, as has been said in previous reviews, the service is not great. The staff are not unfriendly, but they all appear to be somehow socially inept - acting as though speaking to other people is a real strain for them. It's very hard to explain. I was not greeted warmly upon arrival (in fact, I was greeted as though I was an invading viking), I found it difficult to find help with my bags and it took them half an hour to order me a taxi. They made no attempt to congratulate either me or my bride, or any of my wedding party despite the fact that they knew it was our wedding night and they saw us return with flowing wedding dress and tux on our viking hides. The parking ends up costing nearly $50 a night, which I find very strange. It's not as if the hotel isn't expensive enough.

The breakfast that we had at the hotel was another story. Firstly, the prices were all between $20 and $30 (for breakfast!). Then I discovered that there was a strange black mold on the bottom of a pastry I was eating. I showed it to the waiter (who was the slowest waiter in history) and he came back without an apology, claiming it was charcoal from the pan it was baked on. He chuckled along with us (although we were laughing at his ludicrously bad service) and offered me another. Frankly, he should have given me the breakfast for free. Ridiculous.

I won't stay at the Amarano next time I'm in Burbank, which is a town sorely lacking in decent hotels. I wish I had have taken a taxi into Hollywood, where good hotels abound in this price range. The price of parking your car at the Amarano would alone cover the taxi fare to Hollywood.

Sonoma County, CA.

We stayed at this hotel to attend my daughter's wedding. When we booked the rooms and made arrangements in August 2007, it was still the Graciela. The lobby is nice, the rooms are decent size, but the service was not good. Our room was not cleaned at all our first day there, and we were out of the room for several hours. At 5:00, I heard some racket in the hall and it was the cleaning crew arguing, loudly, with their supervisor. The supervisor was pleasant when I asked for some additional towels and she brought them right away, as well as emptied our trash which was full. Day two the room was cleaned but not well at all. There was still hair on the bathroom floor! I don't know that I would stay there again.

The hotel is in a great area for viewing studios and going to hollywood. It is on a farely busy street and we were located over that street. The doors are not sound proof nor the windows and heard cars and people talking most of the night. Otherwise the hotel was great the room was small, but really clean and nice! They have a huge screen TV and very nice food. Ask to not be located over the street. They also upgraded us to a deluxe room but I dont know what a normal room would be like because this room was already farely small. Overall stay here!
