“Great Budget Hotel and fantastic customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Stayed at this fabulous hotel for 3 nights and cannot fault it. From the moment we checked in, the service was excellent. We arrived approx 11am and check in isn't till 2pm but Kamal allowed us to check into our room immediately which was really nice of him seeing as we had just flown a 14 hr flight. The room is basic but practical and everything u need for a budget hotel. Bed is comfortable, free tea and coffee 24 hrs, room has a small bar fridge, free Wi-Fi in room (didn't run too slowly for our time we were on it) room cleaned daily with fresh sheets daily and Kelly at reception could not of gone out of her way to help us anymore with any questions regarding the area or printing of maps etc for us, plus making local phone calls and organising a taxi for us. Fantastic customer service! For little more than $100 a night, this place is a gem. The Mexican restaurant next door serves good meals, reasonably priced and was full each night we walked by it which tells u something about their reputation. Also there is a Thai restaurant further up from motel (Gindi Thai) which again is very reasonably priced and food/service was good. Catching public transport was fairly easy from this motel. To get to Universal Studios we caught the 155 bus which ran from the bus stop just up the road from motel (on same side of road) which costs $1.50 to get to Universal studios (approx 20 min bus ride). We also caught a bus to Hollywood which was bus 222 and that bus stop is located just up the road from motel also (opposite side of road though , near car wash) again that cost $1.50 for bus ride.
There is also a supermarket (Vons) a few blocks away within walking distance and Warner Bros is walking distance from this motel.
Would highly recommend this hotel and anyone who could find more than 1 fault with this hotel would have to be a whinger, as for what you pay per night for a room you get far more.

I really liked this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, walking distance to a bunch of restaurants, with helpful and friendly staff. It had my essentials - a refrigerator and coffee maker and some extras - Porto's pastries and Crabtree and Evelyn soaps and shampoos... And all at a great price. I will definitely stay here again!

I chose the Tangerine because of the great reviews. I was a bit disappointed. It's ok but nothing special. The location is excellent if your visiting WB or Universal. The price is good for the area. Its a very small motel with outside entry doors. Only 4 parking spaces in front. Several more behind the motel in an alley. Tiny pool. No hot tub. The Internet was free but dog slow. The beds are comfy. We had a king which was really a queen. Same width of my queen back home. The bathroom is tiny. But everything in the room was clean and well maintained. Nice tv with and iPod dock on the wall so you can play your content on the tv. iPad doesn't fit.

Room Tip: Mexican restaurant, Don Cucos next store is excellent! Great food, great service.

Was not impressed with this hotel! Great customer service at check in. However it's just an updated motel. We stayed in a room with two queen beds by the pool. Super noisy you could hear every move the person above you made. It's fairly close to universal studios, but there is nothing luxurious about it!

Stayed here for a night to visit Universal Studios for a day. The room is pretty clean, love the deco, pretty updated exceptfor some bathroom fixtures, the mattress was our favorite. When you're tired the mattress matters and with this one we had a one very relaxing & a good night sleep. The location is pretty close to where we want to go. Just about less than 10 mins to downtown Burbank through side streets which matters since freeway traffics are horrible in L.A. Lots of restaurant choices in downtown Burbank. Hotel is close to fwy 134 and stands in a busy street facing the hills but seems to be safe. A few restaurant close by but didn't try the Mexican Restaurant in the corner. The hotel provides a lists of dining places in the proximity inside their rooms. They provided brkfast with indeed very delicious pastries fr a local Cuban bakery. Their hot drinks machine is great as they provided this 24 hrs. Don't forget to try the chai tea. Hotel is currently doing some other room renovation but weren't in the room all day so we don't know if it can get loud. The hotel warns us about this when we checked in. Room does't have microwave but can use the one in the lobby. Free parking which in other hotels can cost at least $25-$35. Free Wi-Fi in the room but can get too slow when all guests are back by 6 pm.Thanks to Kelly (front desk) as she was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again when we visit L.A.

Stayed for 3 nights and check in was smooth as well.

In-room was decent and clean, ample free parking spaces available at hotel lobby else other lots are available at the back of the hotel building. Plenty of eateries were available within walking distance from hotel. Comfy bed, speedy free wifi, friendly front office staffs whom provides info like a local ambassador :)

Short driving distance to Universal Studio and other places of interest like Hollywood Walk of Fame

TIP: Check out the racks of brochures from hotel lobby, there is one map which comes intact with some form of coupon so it entitles you some form of discount into some town F&B outlets and attractions including Hard Rock merchandise shop!

Good choice!

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! Beds are comfy, everything's updated and very clean. There's a fridge in the room and the decor is modern and cute. There's a free espresso/coffee machine, tea and a microwave in the lobby 24 hours, and free pastries in the morning from a local bakery. The girl who checked us in was very helpful and nice, offering to give us any info on all the touristy things there are to do. Pool area looks nice and is heated although we never used it. Parking is free and although there are only a few stalls, there is plenty of free street parking. This hotel is close to everything, Universal Studios is a 5 min drive, Warner Bros. Studios is within walking distance, and Hollywood/downtown Los Angeles is a short 10 minute drive. I like that the hotel is close enough to busy LA but far enough away that it's relaxing. On a quiet street next to a Mexican restaurant, Chipotle, and several other restaurants that looked good but we haven't tried. We look forward to staying here on our next trip, this hotel is fantastic.
