“Good rides, crowded”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Yes, we did go over Spring Break. And yes, there were lots of kids and teenagers .... lots of them. But they were well behaved and not a problem. We enjoyed the variety of rides at the park and overall it was fairly clean. We ate at the Bar-b-que sit down restaurant and it was really good (do the brisket!). The big-time roller coasters were very good and the lines were decent (except for the large wooden coaster). The western coaster (you sit on a horse) starts fast but then is nothing special. It is only a 20 second ride, and the lines move "super" slowly. Do it early, do it once.

This was our first time at the park. The map they provided was not to scale and was confusing. We used maps at several other locations during the week and they worked out well. We would certainly considering going back if an amusement park was on our agenda, but Six Flags, Hershey Park, and Kings Island/Dominion suit us better.

“1st Theme Park - 1st Class Fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Knott's Berry Farm is well worth a visit. There is a good variety of rides including a few goods thrill rides for those who like something with more bite than Disneyland. Warning: Montezooma's Revenge is a real brain rattler! Silver Bullet is a must as it is a decent length and is a very smooth ride. The Sierra Sidewinder is also a lot of fun. We were there in low season (January) and hardly had to queue at all, in fact sometimes we went straight on the ride a second time without having to exit at all. Get ready for fun!

“"Not" Knott's Berry Farm”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We recently took our 5 yr old grandson to Knott's Berry Farm, after many years of absence we were hoping to relive the enjoyment of this park as we had done some 20 years ago with his mother. KBF has a web-site that allows one to purchase advance day tickets. Well worth the time, saving $$ as opposed to gate purchase. The procedure was quick, safe & efficient. I would recommend to anyone planning on traveling to this park to check their web-site.
All things change with time, and I was disappointed to see that time had not been kind to KBF. Few attractions for little ones, they seem to have geared themselves more to the "teen" population. We were there on a Sunday, not busy at all, which was a plus but found ourselves finished in half the time expected. Employees are robotic in every way...not happy, just putting in their time....unfortunate. I used to put this right up there with "Disneyland"...no more, to bad...it used to be!

“Good Value for the Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I have been going to Knott's since the 60's. There has been a lot of changes since then. During the early days there was no charge to enter Knott's. Today there is many new roller coasters, so many they have encroached into other parts of the park. You can hardly walk without running into a new roller coaster foundation or track supports, not a bad thing they are just limited on space. Good Value for the money, 1 year pass less than 1 day @ Disneyland. Since Cedars took over the park maintenance has been less. Less painting, place needs more repairs on buildings and things, they don't clean as much but its not that dirty. There is a Pinks Hot Dog stand before you enter the park which is nice. The Chicken Dinner is less food and more money, about $18.00 for dinner, but we still go just not as often. This is a good place for the teenagers, its like a smaller Six Flags Magic Mountain with a lot of thrill rides.
Over all this is a good deal for the price you pay, besides you are really close to Pirate’s Dinner Adventure and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament both also good values.

“It ain't Disneyland”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

If you are young, energetic, and into rides this might be a decent place. If you're into buying food and tourist junk, it's heaven. If you are into sedate attractions, look elsewhere. While it offers some shows, you have to traipse the whole park to (1) see if the show is showing and (2) see what times the show(s) are offered by reading the placard outside the show.
