So,,my husband-to-be and I were leaving Southern California and making our way up to Big Sur for our wedding/honeymoon. We leisurely made our way up the coast. We, of course, stopped in Solvang/Buellton. I remember going to Ostrich Land many years ago and loved it. I wanted to go again. The day was perfect and beautiful. This was on a Tuesday, mid-morning. It was not busy at all. There was one other couple there and they were on their way out. The guy that worked there was patiently explaining to the couple that they dont slaughter the Ostrich for meat on this farm. Thank goodness!!! Anyways, we paid,,,,I think it was a couple bucks to feed them. The guy who worked there explained the rules and made sure we understood how to feed these animals. They are quite large. It was so much fun!!! The lashes and eyes on these animals is enough to melt your heart!!! We got lots of photos and it was an amazing experience. In case anyone is wondering...Im a die-hard animal lover, and I would never go anyplace where I thought animals are not cared for properly. These animals are well taken care of. They seem very happy. We left Ostrich land with a smile on our faces. It was a perfect experience!
