“Fun, fun, fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Other reviewers have already talked about the cool concept. What makes it really enjoyable is that each and every server we talked to was more than happy to give us recommendations, based on our preferences... dry, sweet, fruity, spicy?... they knew it all, and were really friendly, not snooty about giving us several options.
Our menu had lots of pizzas and some really creative salads. Also fun tapas (we tried 'yuppie crack': dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon). There are several big flamenco murals on the wall to honor their tapas. (btw, the local tourist board has a coupon for 1 free tapas order)
We were there on a Sat. night when they had live music. Would love to go here again; it was a wonderful evening.

“Creative concept in Sta. Rita Hills wine country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

Been here once for lunch and once for dinner. The menu is a mix of american tapas and pizza for the most part. The food is always very good. It won't win any culinary awards, but consistency is a bit more important these days.

The creative aspect is that they have wine dispensers lining the north wall of the restaurant. Each person or table is provided with a credit card that will allow you to dispense a taste, a half glass or a full glass of wine. The wines are all local and many are made at Terravant, the custom crush facility that shares the building.

A fun option and it beats going into Disneyville Solvang.

“Loved It!”

We had a blast sampling the various wines from the dispensers. Our pizzas from the wood-fired oven was superb.

“Wine Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012 via mobile

We attended a tasting hosted by Frank Ostini, owner of the Hitching Post Restaurant, and winemaker of Hitching Post wines. He makes his wine at this facility which is one of the most sophisticated we have ever seen. If you can find a way to get a tour, do so. Avant is the wine & tapas bar on the second floor with a view of the winery. There is a large assortment of central coast wines that you purchase from dispensers in either a sip, half pour or full pour at very reasonable prices. We had a cheese platter and rumaki that were very good and paired for the wine. It was Friday evening and there was a trio playing music to add to the ambiance.
