“can't believe we didn't find this hidden gem before!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is a great little hole in the wall - we stay nearly across the street when we go to Tahoe and found it by chance! Great fresh food. The Thai scallops are excellent - so were the shrimp scampi appetizers and beet salad appetizers. My sister had the duck and said it was very good. I had the scallops with the fruit beurre blanc sauce - mildly sweet and creamy and very nice. Service was very good as well. Will be returning! Make a reservation as it fills up fast.

“Historic log cabin setting with excellent California cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We'll be back - often. Been coming to Tahoe for decades, but recently made it our home. This was our first experience at Soule Domain. Walked in without a reservation at 7:30 on a Monday night and got the last table in the place. The service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is modestly priced. If you're looking for a '97 Silver Oak, bring your own. Their list has good values and variety, but the top end is $70. The food's excellent, with a varied menu that included fresh fish, vegetarian, duck, lamb and beef entrees. Good value - with wine and tip, dinner was about $120 for two.

“Creative chef”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Delicious and creative. Sometimes a bit tight since so small. Filled with locals regularly for special occasions. Have to go a bit out of way to get here if staying on North Shore but worth it

“Give it an 11!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Seriously, Soule Domain is 'the' perfect spot for that romantic evening, dinner with friends, any occasion that needs to be special. The site is a charming log building, Decor is cute without being sickly sweet. The ambiance is intimate and comfortable.
The wait staff doesn't miss on anything. Ask a question and it's answered. Before you notice your water glass is almost empty it has been filled. The food is prepared as if you have your own professional chef at home. The quality is obvious beginning with perfect place settings, a scrupulously clean interior and succulent, delicious food.
This is a finely tuned establishment located in one of the world's most destinations.

“Very good but not memorable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Have not been there for years and really looking forward to it. It's just been a few days and I had to think hard just what we ate. I wonder if the owner has perhaps turned vegan but still serves meat for the masses.

Well if your vegan you have options.

There was a lot to choose from, service was good. I had the Chicken Curry-interesting. Wife had a pork dish which I didn't love nor hate from my few tastes.

The home made ice cream was remarkable. Of all the places we went to this ended up the bottom of the list, but the list was pretty top rated food.

I feel I am being a little hard on them but my socks are still on my feet (as in knocked my socks off saying) which is good as the cool old cabin is drafty during the winter.
