“Decent motel for the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We were traveling through OR and CA and this was our stop before a day at Yosemiite. The people were very friendly and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were a little hard. Basic motel and a very basic breakfast. Bridgeport is a cute little town. Definately recommended.

Stayed at the Ruby Inn in Bridgeport in July 2012 while on the way to Yosemite. Good clean no-frills mom & pop motel. Nothing more, nothing less. Helpful front desk clerk guided us to an excellent local Mexican restaurant outside of town for dinner and the continental breakfast the next morning was good and filling. Within walking distance to most everything in Bridgeport. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms open up to the parking lot. There are some on the 2nd floor.

Picked this place because it was the closest available hotel near Lee Vining. Glad I did. Bridgeport is a one-horse town - you can walk from one end to the another in a few minutes. But there's good food at the Bridgeport Inn, and the stay at the Ruby Inn was pretty good. Clean, courteous and attention paid in all the right places (coffee, bathroom, etc.). Internet's a little underpowered - doesn't work with iPads (I've had this problem before - whats with that?). Would stay again

Room was fine, two queen beds, tea and coffee in room plus free wi fi.

Breakfast was a little basic, very little on offer and kinda squished into a gap next to reception and you had to take it back to your room to eat. If you're big on food - and I'm not - you might find this disappointing.

Ruby Inn is a motel in all but name. Spotted a hot tub but didn't use it, wasn't totally certain if it belonged to the hotel or not to be honest.

Receptionist at check on was pleasant but a little monosyllabic, the one on check out was much more cheerful.

Oakdale is pretty much a one horse town, there's two or three places to eat, a few shops and a gas station and that's pretty much it. We only stayed there as a staging post on a big driving holiday. The main attraction was Travetine hot springs and Bodie ghost town. Both were awesome - definitely worth a visit.

I lost my very expensive sunglasses there, so if you spot a pair of Oakleys in the grass, please drop me a line!

This place IS overpriced, BUT we checked with every single hotel, motel, and inn on this street and they were all priced exactly the same: $115 plus tax ($129). The owner was a great guy though and called up his buddy for us asking if he could serve us dinner - it was 9:00 and everything was closing!! We thought that was real nice and something he didn't have to do.

The room was extremely comfortable and clean. If we ever get stuck driving through these mountains again, we would stay here.

The management was very friendly and helpful.
They have a great outdoor space for breakfast, tables in the shade.
The beds were comfortable and room was clean.

Ruby Inn is a nice clean hotel with comfy beds. After 4-5 nights of not sleeping well at other places, I was happy to get some quality sleep when we stopped by here. The decor is a bit dated, but most places are. Helpful staff and clean.
