Well, some people apparently like this place and are willing to pay the $15 cost of entry, judging by the constant flow and plates piled with shrimp and pork. However, upon first experience of the steamy interior, we had our doubts. Slippery floors, messy counters (from careless patrons), the constant sound of spatulas against the grill made for an unpleasant atmosphere.
As far as this type of fare goes, they try hard, and their success is a statement to the fact that they have found a niche that appreciates what is offered. The three in our party were all disappointed. An interesting observation: Without exception, the wait staff were all skinny and the patrons were heavy.
My suggestion: 2-3 miles NW is Mei Mei, where the rice and single entree meals start at $6!!! And the quality is incredibly better. Well, maybe I should keep that my little secret, since we love the quieter atmosphere.
