What an incredible, sensory dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were top rate. I'll start with the food/drinks:
KEY LIME MARTINI
OMG!!! What an erotic drink. Every sip gave me a sensation of total bliss! The first taste sensation is the clean, crisp dryness from the lime; then the coconut flavor; and finally, the frothy, creamy, finish. TO DIE FOR! I recommend going for this drink alone!
SWORDFISH
This was the best, most perfectly-prepared fresh fish I have had in a while. (The last time I enjoyed fish so much was the John Dory at The Cellar in Fullerton a few years ago.) It was so tender, moist, and flaky, it melted in my mouth! (My friend had the Pork Roast, which looked equally tantalizing.) (I have also had the Shrimp & Medallions before, which I highly recommend.)
DESSERT
The BEST Coconut Cake I have ever tasted, coupled with a high-quality vanilla bean ice cream. More orgasmic culinary sensations on the tongue! Heavenly!
SERVICE
Our server, Katherine was a professional, full of sensible wit, knowledge of the menu, and friendliness!
DRAWBACKS
Three negative things only very slightly marred our experience:
1. one of the cooks or someone was whistling a LOT.
2. The music stopped and there was awkward silence for about 10 minutes.
3. The table lighting was a bit bright (so we stood a menu up to block it.
AMBIENCE
The interior architecture & design is beautiful. There are high, vaulted ceilings of redwood, with redwood beams and pewter brackets---STUNNING! And comfortable, spread out seating. Very romantic!
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
