The property is located in the midst of magical redwood forest not far from Santa Cruz. It sits at the top of the hill at a pretty good elevation. So much so that it enjoys its own micro climate that is distinct from Santa Cruz and the nearby South Bay. On a clear day you can literally see from Pescadero to Monterey Peninsula. However, it is not clear very often. This spot gets about 60 inches of rain per year. Between rain and fog mist expect precipitation at some point of your stay. it also can get very cool regardless of the time of the year. You will enjoy staying here if you enjoy solitude, privacy, hiking, horses, fog, coolness, and occasional sunshine. You may not like it if you are looking to be close to urban activities, beach, lots of sunshine and socialization with strangers. Scott and Connie are nice and friendly people. However, clearly they view this property as first and foremost their home. The B&B business is not the focus of their lives. So do not expect them to be throwing parties and leading monopoly games for guests. This is where you want to be if you want to kick back and read a book by the fireplace or catch up on some movies and sleep. The property itself is very elegant. The views are amazing. furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. The bedding is excellent. Bathrooms are first rate. Everything is spotless. There is a wonderful rottweiler dog who lives on the property. She can be a source of great warmth and fun. The breakfast is simple, but fresh and healthy. Decent restaurants are about 15 minutes away, down the hill. Again, this is not for everyone. if you are looking for the sort of experience I described, you will fall in love with this place. If not, you will not enjoy it. Do not plan to arrive here after dark. Finding this place during the day is hard enough and can be near impossible after dark.
