I have been visiting Borrego Springs since the '60's. It is a great alternative to the Palm Springs area as it is small and quiet with all of the pleausres of the desert.
Palm Canyon Resort is a great place to stay. it is neat and clean, very affordable, and the people are friendly and helpful. It also has a restaurant and bar a few feet from your door. The restaurant is very good with some interesting choices that won't break the bank.
I stayed there to view the comet Hale Bopp in '97. There is little ambient light, so it is a great place for any skygazing activity.
Come stay in April to view the spectacular wildflowers. I have traveled many times alone and always feel comfortable and safe at the The Palm Canyon Resort.

We really enjoyed our stay for a day on our way to Palm Springs and would highly recommend this resort to others. It was really neat to have breakfast at the coast in La Jolla, lunch in the old gold-mining town of Julian, and then arrive mid afternoon for a relaxing evening and morning at Palm Canyon. The resort is set up with buildings grouped around the central pool area and had beautiful views of the surrounding countryside (plenty of it since it is a very remote town and not a lot of major attractions to tour). We took a queen up grade in building E with a balcony and pool view. It was very spacious and well equipped with a refrig. and a total of 3 sinks with a very nice vanity area outside the bath. Most of the buildings seemed to have pool views but the private balcony would be particularly nice in the cooler weather. We did enjoy the early morning hours on the balcony. It is the closest hotel to the Anzo-Borrego Desert State Park visitor center and that is also highly recommended. The high temps (109) made it impossible to walk the trails nearby but a visit in the winter would be a great time to explore. We definitely liked the Hog Trough Saloon and there is also a very nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Due to the heat, there were very few RVs and campers in the adjacent area. The camp area had its own pool so there should be no problem with over crowding. The shadows on the mountains in the early morning were just gorgeous. We don't think others will be disappointed in Palm Canyon Resort.

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend at this hotel. The king sized room was beautuiful and very spacious, very clean. The restaurant was excellent and everyone working there was very friendly. We had no problems whatsoever. In fact we are returning next month for another great weekend.

“Wish I had more than one night at the Palm Canyon Resort!”

We loved our one night stay at the Palm Canyon Resort - the only thing we would have changed about our trip would have been to extend it. This hotel (and town) was so peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is under new managment - I don't know a thing about the old managers (this was my first time staying here) but the new managers are EXCELLENT. Clearly concerned with the happiness of the guests, everyone was very nice and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great vacation. My only complaint was the 4pm check in time, which seemed a tad late to me, but it was clearly posted and my own fault for arriving early! Our room was clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. This hotel had it all - a restaurant, bar, gift shop, gym - everything. The food and drinks in the bar were great. The hotel was right next to the visitor's center of the Nat'l Park, making it very easy to pop up there for early morning hikes. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and I can't wait to go back - for longer than a night next time!

I just got back from the Palm Canyon resort. This was my third time staying there. The new manager mike was very nice, so was the staff. I came with some good freinds and had great stay. I will continue to come to this place as often as I can.
