“The Fox Den is Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

My wife and I visited the Fox Den bar/restaurant on Saturday night July 27, 2013.
The Fox Den is serving as the restaurant right now until the management gets the main restaurant up and running again.
The meal we had at the Fox Den was excellent. We both had the gazpacho and split a quesadilla, which came with your choice of coleslaw or French fries.
In addition we each had a Simple Salad which was delicious. For desert we had two scoops of vanilla ice cream, the perfect finish to our meal.
The service at the Fox Den is first rate. The staff was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of at all times. Not only that but all the staff is very personable and accommodating. The chef also came out and asked guests how their meal was. Now that is what I call service!
The new owners of La Casa are making every effort to please their returning guests, some who have been going to the resort for decades. I would say if this is their start, they are definitely on the right track. Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: We did not stay at La Casa del Zoro so I cannot give any tips about the rooms.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

As a frequent visitor to La Casa during the "Copley" years we enjoyed the casual elegance of the resort and always felt welcomed by the staff. The property changed hands and was re-named Borrego Springs Ranch, during your stay it felt like your being there was an imposition.
I am happy to say that La Casa is BACK! The warmth and the friendliness of the staff made us feel like long lost friends. Our poolside room was perfection! Comfortable bed with luxury linens and pillows so fluffy it felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. The grounds are well groomed and the sparkling pools are the perfect way to cool off. During the "Soft-Opening" (Grand Opening in September) The Butterfield Dining room is closed, but the Fox Den is open and serving a limited menu (the Bar Burger is excellent!) A nightly special is presented by the chef and it's outstanding. We are looking forward to a return visit in the near future!
