We went to Borrego Springs to experience the hiking trails there and saw Borrego Valley Inn in a Sunset Mag article, so I booked a room there. When we got to town and pulled into their driveway, I thought "This is it?"" But that feeling changed as soon as we walked into the courtyard. Groomed grounds, lovely garden accents, huge courtyard. And the rooms are spotless, roomy, super quiet. In the summer, they leave you a breakfast basket in your in-room refrigerator. (I guess in high season there is a full breakfast buffet.) Fresh GOOD coffee brewed early every morning on the patio by the front desk area. Two pool/jacuzzis (one is kind of a surprise . . . ). The rooms are not cheap, but it was everything we wanted: quiet, clean, great stargazing from our private backyard patio, lovely morning coffee on the veranda, afternoon cool off in the pool.
We will go back!
