“Portion sizes vary greatly but quality good.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

There were 6 in our party , 5 adults and 1 child and this review was a combination of all the opinions as they did differ greatly. The place has cafe style tables but some of the food is trying to be more restaurant style which makes it a strange combination. The kids fish and chips went down well and the clam chowder was creamy and good consistency but not as spicy or tasty as Spud Bay Cafe. The crab ravioli was good but could have done with more sauce and the crab cakes also tasted fresh. On the main meals the fish and chip adult meal got good reviews and the plate was of decent size. The special was salmon and although it was fresh, the portion size was very small in comparison to the other meals as it seemed to be missing the sides - 3 small half potatoes and was plated more for style than content.

We went on a quiet evening so not sure if other comments about staff were when it was busy, as we found them to be both friendly and attentive. Food all round was good but it needs to decide if it wants to go for cafe or restaurant style .

“OK Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

A breakfast alternative that was reasonable in choice, taste, service, and price. Pancakes were good. Decent coffee. Nice quiet place.

“Fish not fresh, but other items were good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children. One of the kids had steak, and the other a childrens' pasta. Both were satisfied. One of the adults had a veggie pasta, another the salmon catch of the day. Both were pleased.
By contrast I ordered the seafood pasta. It was a disaster as the fish and mussels were not fresh, and did not taste good. To his credit the waiter immediately took 10% off the whole bill to compensate. I guess that this place is hit or miss. It was just my bad luck that day.

“Don't Go!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012 via mobile

If your looking for bad food and rude staff this is the place for you. The waitress took our children's order before ours to expedite their food, which seemed thoughtful until an hour and a half passed between our children being served and us getting our food. The chicken was tough and clearly microwaved. The salmon was the special, but did not taste fresh and the food was fair to poor. All of which would have been acceptable if the waitress wasn't so rude. She actually raised her voice and yelled at us at one point. I have never written a bad review of this sort, but since the restaurant added 18% gratuity to the bill the only way to share our dissatisfaction is to warn others not to repeat our miserable experience.

Good breakfast with anice view. Friendly staff. Would go again. Wish we had tried lunch or dinner, too.
