“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

I had a standard lunch here, which consisted of a good turkey club. The service was outstanding, and my view was mediocre, as I ended up at a table toward the back. That’s okay, though, I was there because this restaurant was in The Birds. The inside has completely changed, but I was still happy I went.

“Overpriced!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

The food was not so great--you are paying for the view--huge windows, right on the water. Food is less than mediocre and the prices are too high.

“Overpriced meals, but great view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Best thing about this restaurant was the view. It's the rebuilt restaurant that was featured in the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds". It sits right on the harbor. It has a bar, "snack bar" and gift shop. They have a pretty good menu for dinner, but it way overpriced for what it is. It took 10 minutes to be seated. I had the Whale Watcher: clam chowder, salad & sourdough bread at $13. The chowder was good, as was the salad. Husband had the Steak Sandwich (20) on a big piece of sourdough bread and steak fries. He said it was ok - the steak was a big piece of steak and not some shaved beef. Fries were good. We had water to drink instead of paying $4 each for a glass of tea or soda (glasses were recycled 7-up plastic glasses). White tablecloths. Service was ok, considering it was a busy time. If you want a nice meal in Bodega Bay, expect to pay a high price for it. There are several upper crust restaurants in the area with very high dinner prices. I had asked to see the child's menu; the waitress gave me one but said she wasn't supposed to because the manager would get mad. I ended up ordering from the regular menu anyway.

“Not so good food in great location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Nice looking place. Good service. 2 people in my party had the Fish and Chips. We both agreed, they were the worst we've ever had. Tasteless fish soggy batter. Tasted like it was not made fresh. When you are spending $20 for fish and chips it should be edible. The only person who liked what she got was the person who ordered. New England Clam Chowder.

“Poor service, average breakfast and amazing views”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

I had breakfast as part of a stay at the inn at the tides. Service was neglectfully slow, unattentive and downright apathic; I asked about gluten free options and the answer by the server was " I am too busy to check with the chef". It took them to serve a mediocre omelette 30 minutes after taking our order;
The views on the other hand are truly great; the ducks on the water, the birds overhead and a sea lion popping her/his head once in a while was really nice. The fog on the other side of the bay and the sunshine remind you this is the California coast.
