“Great place for a night on the coast...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

My brother and I stayed here with our wives over the weekend. We stayed one night and had no complaints. Our room was clean. The breakfast was simple, but good. The lady at the counter was nice and told us where to go to look for the whales. (we didn't see any tho) We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: It looked like all the rooms had balconies facing the bay...

We were driving along the Hw1 looking for a place to stay overnight and found this. It is quite a big hotel, but does not look like it.
It was just the right hotel for us! The room was big and had a TV, 2 big beds,, (better than average) a small diningtable and a acceptable bathroom. The room even had a small terrassefacing the sea. Actually one of the best rooms we have had so far along Hw101 and 1. .When booking in, we were handed a video with "The Birds". This film was shot in Bodega Bay and the surroundings.
We really enjoyed our stay there. A big surplus is the fantastic staff, they were so helpfull. We did not have a hotel in San Francisco. They were all full or did offer rooms at prices that were terrible! Jack in the reception helped with phones and Internet and got us one of the few rooms left in whole San Francisco.

Room Tip: Ask for a room vith a view!

Stayed here for one night to attend a wedding. The room was filthy, blood stains on the fringe of the bed, believe it or not three empty coors light cans and a coors light bottle covered in an inch of dust under my bed, sliding door wouldn't shut or latch properly, carpet old and stained and torn. It really was quite unbelievable.

I'll say this: I found the service acceptable and the location excellent, but the condition of the room was unacceptable for any price. I've stayed in cleaner hostels.

We didn't plan on staying here...long story short, our reservation at a B&B fell through and we were forced to find a place to stay on a terribly short notice. Had we done our own research, we wouldn't have ended up at this place.

For starters, when my boyfriend called to reserve the room, he specifically declined the fireplace option. When we arrived to check in (it was about 8:30PM) we were surprised to find that we had been booked in a room with a fireplace, which of course was more expensive. The man at the front desk didn't seem interested in hearing that whomever was taking the reservation had clearly made a mistake. As a matter of fact, his exact words were, "If you don't want the room, you can move on". Rude? I think so. Since we pretty much had no other choice, we took the room. The furniture looked like it was bought in the 90s, the carpet was worn out, and the bathtub was dirty... oh and their outdoor hot tub was broken. I can't say that you get what you pay for because the price was outrageous and the quality was poor.

To top it off, we woke up to a power outage in our room. When my boyfriend went to drop the keys off, he mentioned the issue to the woman at the front desk, saying that it's an inconvenience not being able to use the coffee maker or the blow-dryer. The woman's response was, "Why don't you just roll the windows down in the car and have your girlfriend stick her head out the window". Rude? Absolutely!

Not only is this place a dump, the staff need a serious attitude adjustment.

We stayed here one night for a wedding in August. The location was great. We had a room with a view, which would have been really nice had the weather no been so foggy (not the hotel's fault).I have no idea how the price compares to other hotels, we picked it because of its location to the wedding. There was a fireplace in the room which was a nice addition, especially in the winter. The woman at the front desk, Sally, could not have been nicer. They had a nice breakfast in their dining room which is always a plus. However, the room at the Inn itself is a bit tired and in need of sprucing up, especially considering the price. I mentioned a few things to Sally when I left about minor fixes, which I hope they addressed. The bathroom looked like it had been recently updated and if they updated the bedding, especially the bedspreads and pillows, it would make a big difference.

We were tired and glad to find to find this place after a long day. The fellow at the desk, after talking to us about Tipi Hendren and other local lore, said he would lower our room rate by ten bucks , for which we were very appreciative. Later as we looked at the bill, the lower rate was shown as the regular rate anyway (a bit odd).
The room itself was similar to what has been described by others on this site. It had a nice view and was comfortable enough , with a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker but also, showed signs of wear and deferred maintenance, particularly the carpet.
One plus was that though it was late evening by the time we checked in, we had time to walk to a local park adjacent to the property where we saw deer and river otters.
We also spent a quiet night despite proximity to the coast hiway, The complementary breakfast was the usual unexciting fare, with great crowding around the waffle maker. We ended up driving up the coast for breakfast

Was our most expensive hotel. Only the view is better and the walkway to the beach ... Carpet worn out/dirty and bath tube damaged and repaired lousy. Also the balkony chairs would need a exchange... Again only if no other choice..
