“Just a few things to point out about an otherwise decent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

Stayed three days at this location for work. Clean hotel, decent breakfast in the morning, very friendly staff. Only three things wrong: Exercise room was just a regular room with mirrors on wall, a water cooler, towels, eliptical, treadmill, recumbent bike, and TV. What would normally be the restroom was locked. Thumbs down for me on this as my room was clear at the other end of the motel. Recumbent bike inoperable all three days. Second thing that went wrong (albeit a very minor thing): I unplugged the hair dryer to plug in my straightener. TV and light fuses in my room all blew! There was nothing else plugged in. I've never seen a fuse blow by unplugging something. Plugged in my straightener, hit the reset button on the GFI and my straightener and everything was back in business. Third miss: There are the necessary window screens on the outside of the windows to keep the heat and sun out during the day. Inside the room are sheer drapes and the black out curtains are just there for looks and are only a foot wide on either end of the window. The problem lies in the fact that at night with the lights on in the room, you can see straight into the room when you walk by. As a female staying alone in the room, I did not like this. These are very minor things to point out, and I would stay here again. If you can, eat at Rebel BBQ. What a gem.

Very nice room, clean, comfy beds, nice LG flatscreen and no frwy noise. The breakfast was better than we expected, eggs weren't the best but they had enough different things to eat you couldn't leave hungry. I would definetly stay here again.

My daughters and I spent 2 nights at this hotel on the way from Tucson to LA and back. We absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and spotlessly clean. A big plus were the beds: incredibly comfortable. The breakfast room was lovely, too, and the food plentiful and varied. On top of all this, the hotel offers a very nice heated indoor pool and hot tub. It was a great break after a long drive.(A bonus was that in spite of being indoors, you didn't get this stuffy, oppressive feeling you get sometimes with such pools, and no unpleasant chlorine smell). Last but not least, the staff at the front desk as well as the housekeepers went out of their way to accommodate us. The receptionist extended not only our check out time at no charge, but on Sunday morning, he also gave us an extra 15 minutes for breakfast because we had gotten up late. As for the maids, they opened our door 3 times because we kept misplacing our key card!

Room Tip: They all seem pretty good. If you have a large family, you can ask for connecting rooms.

All aspects of the hotel e.g. greeting to checkout were very good but we needed to cool some medication. When getting to the room found a defrosted fridge that was plugged in and not running. There are no on off switches. Called the front desk to advise them and their response was wait. "It was just defrosted and it will start up in the next few hours." Got ice out of ice machine. Fridge never starts up. Mentioned it twice to front desk, once two hours later and secondly the next morning when I had to get more ice. There was no acknowledgment of the problem not was it ever fixed.

Room Tip: Our room was set back from the road. A good idea so you are away from freeway.

I travel a lot for business and get a chance to see a variety of hotels and motels. Generally physical plants are in good order and amenities more than adequate; this is true of the Quality Inn in Blythe. When I travel a big comfortable bed and big flat screen TV, plus good A/C, is essential.
What this Quality Inn has is staff and management who are over the top in terms of service and consideration. When you enter the facility, you step out of the small, hot world of Blythe. These folks make each of my stays memorable. The staff is genteel and efficient, always with a smile. This example is set by the Manager. It is my favorite stop any night!

We have been staying at this hotel for years when it was a Holiday Inn Express. Last year it converted to a Quality Inn. We have found virtually no change since the conversion except they no longer have the famous Holiday Inn cinnamon rolls. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, and it is quiet other than some traffic noise from the nearby freeway. It is a great place to stay while visiting the Quartzsite shows about 20 minutes away. There is virtually nowhere to stay in Quartzsite itself. They have a full breakfast and the service was good. There are many fast food and Denny type restaurants within a half mile.
