“Definitely Budget Travel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2006

Before you read this please remember that this hotel only cost $50 per night and that included a continental breakfast and high speed internet access BUT I couldn't stay there again even at that price.

The room was dark and dismal but on the surface it looked very clean - until I pulled the covers back and on the blanket there was a substance that looked just like excrement. It was late and night and we didn't feel comfortable contacting the reception to ask to have it changed.

The walls of the room were so thin that you could hear the entire conversation of guests in adjoining rooms. As this motel is a used as a base for outdoor activities guests were up early and you could hear the showers in other guest rooms. During our stay guests started showering at 5 a.m.

There was a pool which was very clean. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and Blythe looks like it is having a difficult time as many businesses were boarded up.

I am trying to give this a fair rating but everytime I think about it I remember the blanket. The lumps stuck to it were so obvious nobody could miss it so I don't understand why it wasn't washed.

Stayed April 2006

The swimming pool area is beautifully landscaped and well maintained with plenty of shaded tables, lounges, and chairs. It is open from 6am to 10pm. The pool came in handy because it was 117 degrees during my stay! The air conditioning in my room worked well and there was a fan to keep the cool air moving. The room also was equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and video player (with a big selection of tapes at the front desk), making it an excellent choice for longer-term stays.

One tip: the tap water in Blythe has a strong taste; suggest you bring along plenty of bottled water for drinking.
