“Overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

We stayed at this motel for the night as we were returning back to Texas and our drive was pretty long. We spent an hour and a half looking for it since it was not on the I-10 sign. We had to stop and ask at a gas station. We got there at 1 am, rang the doorbell, and a lady came out and opened. Check in was smooth, she apologized for us not finding the hotel (very nice lady), gave us our room key and we were on our way. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Nice flat screen TV with cable. Went into the bathroom and was expecting a bunch of bugs since we read the last review. To our surprise, there were only 2 tiny dead bugs. Seems like they've had that problem before since they had some kind of white powder substance around the bathroom door (carpeted area outside)...I guess bug repellent. Room had coffee maker, iron and ironing board. We had a microwave and fridge. We had to move the fridge a certain way to keep it on since it was plugged in but when we got there it wasn't on. We had breakfast at the little restaurant they had there (it was free). We had eggs, bacon, pancakes, and orange juice. You order it and they make it. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent rating was because of the bugs. Otherwise, it's a nice motel for the price we got it at.

“Expect bugs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

This place had the best price for what was offered, by about $9 per room. It looked clean, offered free wi-fi, a pool and hot tub, and a hot breakfast. Everything was working. Beds were comfortable. Only problem: BUGS in the bathroom. I noticed them immediately. There were about 15 dead or half-dead bugs on the bathroom floor of both of our two rooms. I called the desk, and a man came with a handheld vacuum and sucked them up. When I asked if this was to be expected he said, yes, they were just harmless desert bugs and not to worry. A few more bugs did enter the bathroom and crawl around through the night. Upon closer inspection I noticed some crawling around the sides of the wall on our carpeted room floor near the bathroom. We used the pool and hot tub. The hot tub also had an infestation of bugs, perhaps in the outtake, as they kept appearing on one side of the tub even though we scooped them out often. Breakfast was amazing. People were friendly. I was glad the bugs were harmless and not roaches. But, I would never stay there again, since the management seemed to accept the problem of bugs in the room as normal rather than trying to fight the problem. They didn't even apologize for it--just said it was normal. I'm wondering, do all the hotels in Blythe have bug infestations?

“welcome stop in the desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

We needed somewhere to stop overnight on the drive through the desert and chose this motel based on other reviews. It is a cut above the average, basic motel. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped and provided a comfortable night. We did not use the pool but many travellers would welcome it. The motel is on the edge of town so there are few facilities close by. The diner next to the motel was nothing special at all but provided adequate food with a 15% discount for residents at the motel. One major plus for staying at this motel was that, unlike most places where you get a very frugal basic breakfast in cramped conditions, this motel gave you a complimentary full breakfast at the diner. Unfortunately the diner doesn't open until 7 am and we had to be away by 8 am so we couldn't take full advantage of this arrangement! It was our last night in the States and this motel left us with a good impression, it was exactly the standard one would look for in a basic motel at a reasonable price.

“Worth staying here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

We stayed here two nights, and this hotel is worth what they charge. It's pretty basic looking, but very clean, and the rooms have amenities that alot of other places that charge more don't have. The rooms have fridges, microwaves, ironing board & iron, & small 4 cup coffee pot. The bedspread wasn't frayed, faded, or worn out like some places I've seen. It was quiet while we were here, and spent alot of time in the pool. The pool was very clean, wasn't over chlorinated, and the spa was just right! The owners of this hotel also own the restaraunt next door, and they give you a card to choose 5 HOT cooked items for breakfast. Soooo much better than the dried out donuts, stale cereal, & packaged sugary items that other places give you for their continental breakfast. They also give you a 15% coupon off for any other meals you may want there. The owners are down to earth & very friendly. This is a comfortable place to stay. The photos other travelers put on here, along with the professional pics pretty much look exactly like it is here.

“Nice place for a stop over.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

The wife and I stayed here on the fourth night of our "mother of all road trips" which took us through southern California, Arizona, Utah. Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, and ending up in San Francisco. The Rodeway Inn in Blythe provided us with a clean, quiet stopover enroute to Sedona. The bonus for staying here is the complimentary hot breakfast at the restaurant next door which is also managed by the hotel. The pool is great for a morning swim before hitting the road.

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet, clean room.
