“never never never again!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

we have stayed at several hotels and this by far has been the worst experiance we have ever incountered nothing but rude service for the so called main supervisor with a very SMALL man issue never never never again would we ever stay at this property again. I would sleep in my car before I would ever go back there... Highly Not Recommened!!!

Our research told us this was probably the best hotel in the area, and most of our experience confirms this. The rooms were comfortably large and very clean, the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful, the restaurant on site had tasty food (if on the expensive side).

However, we were awoken at 4:30am by a loud persistent knocking at a room down the hall, noise in the parking lot, and the television in the room next door, which stayed on the rest of the night. So we did not get a great night's sleep. The gaps under the does are too large, and the walls are a bit too thin.

So, good quality for the money, clean, pleasant staff, but not the most restful sleep.

This was our third time here, and would definitely come back again. Arcata really has nothing to offer that is comparable with blue lakes casino. The rooms are beautiful and largel, and at 100 per night, not so out of line with the other hotels. They also discount for AAA.

This hotel appears to be quite new and what a surprise compared to some of the hotels we stay in. The room was wonderful. Large, clean and the beds so comfortable. It was very quiet so we did get a good nights sleep. The front desk was friendly and efficient. Alice's restaurant was quick and clean with friendly wait persons. The room charge of $90.00 was a bonus as we have had to pay more for much less. My only complaint about this place, and I am not rating it lower because of it, is the casino. We go to casino's all over the country and this would rate a 1 on a scale of 5. Their machines are old and the casino is what I would describe as dingy. Because it is so close to 101 we would stay there again but more than likely not use the casino.

Of all the places we stayed on a two week road trip, I would have to say this was one of the nicest. Although a little higher in price for the season, it was well worth it. The room was huge, very clean and the bed was Very comfortable also very quiet. Friendly staff. Since my husband enjoys the slot machines, this was convenient for him and I could enjoy resting in the room. Didn't get to see the lake as it was raining and cold so we treked on down the road.

We arrived for three nights on Thursday for college graduation in Arcata. The town of Blue Lake is on CA-299 about 5 miles north of US-101. A very nice looking green valley. Our rate was $175 per night which I thought was kind of steep. A nice place they seem to try but just doesnt measure up. The hotel is non-smoking but there are butts all over the place from guests that step outside, Sinks in bathrooms that take forever to drain and even when you call for help are largely ignored. The first night the hotel was hosting a musical event for the younger generation. And wouldnt you know it but the party room was right next to ours. We called the front desk three times the last being 01:30am . To their credit the hotel and security did their best to control the situation. At 01:30am everyone got thrown out of the room and we finally got some sleep. At first the hotel offered $10 table game coupons for the inconveinence I suggested comping us.It took some doing but we eventually got comped for one night.

Room service is only from 7:00am to 11:00am and very limited menu.

The best part of the stay was a graduation dinner at Alice's on the property. Good food, good service and great tasting sushi.

Casino is OK bathrooms very rundown.

The place is OK but if you can find another rooom somewhere else take it.
