“Don't miss this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We usually have our afternoon espresso there while in Bishop. They have excellent ice cream (made in house) and a very large selection of baked goods. We have tried several but like the cinnamon rolls and brownies best.

“Great Bread”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

One of the most popular places in town. I always stop for several loaves of their fresh bread and their cookies to bring home

“Good food. So so seating.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Popped in for a late lunch. Sandwiches were good. I had some veggie version with avocado and sprouts and gouda cheese and it was quite delicious. Only wish we had taken the sandwiches back to the hotel and eat in its ac and comfortable breakfast area instead of eating at the bakery. It felt cramped and too warm.

“Recommended!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

We loved the fruit juice, coffee, sandwich, and pumpkin pie we bought from the place. We sat outside enjoying the sun and had a great feeling about the whole place. There is one minus point is the woman behind sandwich bar doesn't seem to know all their menu. We asked for extra cheddar cheese on our roasted beef sandwich but we got Swiss cheese. But the place is worth a visit.

“A must stop on the "East Side" - Bishop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We have been stopping at Schat's for decades and it remains a favorite. They are a Bakery and more...a deli and food supply stop for hungry locals, hikers, fishermen, and tourists. The breads are excellent - the Russian Raisin Pecan Loaf, and the Honi Squaw Bread are our favorites. The sandwiches are great. A perfect stop to get lunch and supplies for a picnic. People come from far and wide to pick up loaves of bread - if you want the best selection, better be there in the morning. We were last there at 11 am, and customers were cleaning off the shelves of bread... many buying 5 or more loaves. Go here, eat here, and take a few loaves home. You will be glad.
