We have just returned from a weekend at the Golden Bear. The cabins are magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The staff at the cabins is wonderful. They took care of all my needs the whole time we were there. We stayed in a wonderful cabin with a great view. It was a great inexpensive way for us to get away from the city and enjoy a couple of days in the mountains. They had so many fun things to do while we were there. My wife and I really loved the pool. It even had a tv so that I did not miss any of my favorite sporting events wihle we were enjoying the fun and sun. After a good day of relaxing we enjoyed our in room spa. It was wonderful. We finished the nights off with movies we picked up at the office. They have a very extensive collection of movies to choose from just a short walk from the cabin. Overall I would say this is probably the best cabin we have ever stayed in on vacation.

I recently stayed at Golden Bear Cottages in the Fuzzy Bear cabin. The cabin was really clean, comfortable and had a full kitchen. The pool and hot tub area was clean and not too crowded. I found the staff was friendly and helpful. They also have lots of games and movies available for customers. I really enjoyed my stay at Golden Bear Cottages, and Big Bear was absolutely beautiful!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Bear Cottage this April 2005. We originally had booked the room for one night but when we saw how beautiful and comfortable the atmosphere was around us, we had to stay another night. The cottage and cleaning staff were very friendly and the room was clean and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed to feel right at home. There was 6 of us and we spend most of our time at our #8 Bearskin Hollow cottage than in the village. We will be back very soon for a relaxing days and nights with family and friends.

Our experience here was very disappointing...When we checked in, the lady at the desk was rushing off to an appointment and there was no one else there to assist us. She, in turn, gave us the WRONG key for our room at check-in! When we finally got into the room, we found it to be VERY dusty! The cabin certainly needed some updating also. The 2 dryers there did NOT work properly, and although we asked for a refund for the quarters we wasted, we did not receive it. We will never recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy their vacation.
