One of the best times we have ever had,our granddaughter had a ball.
My wife and myself have been too the cottages before,we have always
had a great time.The staff at Golden Bear Cottages,were extremly helpful,
as usual.The grounds were great ,we would recommend this resort to
everyone.

We Recently stayed here and had a fabulous time! Although We were their for an outdoor wedding, it's a great place for any stay! The staff bent over backwards to accomadate us. Cabin #28 is great for family reunions/weddings and family bonding!(6 rooms, sleeps 26) I give it a 5 out of 5! Fabulous and excellent!

We live in the IE and suprisingly had never been to Big Bear. The family and I took a drive up one Sat. am and loved it! We happened to go off some reviews and I had my husband find this place. It was so cute and the owners were so sweet and helpful! We ended up spending the night up there in the Bear Hug room and now im getting ready to book a longer vacation for the spring ! I dont understand why they got such a bad review previously? That's what prompted me to write this. This place was awesome! I guess some people are just strange!

We stayed here over 2 1/2 years ago. Should have written then. I wrote several letters of complaint to owners, but all letters came back undeliverable- funny, got their mailing address from their website! the visit was horrible, ants in rooms, live and dead ants in the beds ("clean sheets") , horrible smoke smell in whole cottage, dirty and stained carpet. Refused to refund our 2nd prepaid night, even though we checked out early after 1st night. the whole place gave me the creeps. Do not stay here!! They act friendly when you arrive, but if there are any complaints- they turn nasty.
Again, do not stay here- if you complain, they will just blame you.

It is hard to know how to respond to this person, since we do not know who they are. We would like to resolve their complaint, but have never received phone or written notice from them... maybe they are confused about where they stayed so long ago. Our phone and address has been the same for over 75 years! Our email has been the same for 10 years and we're easy to find on the internet. We promise to help if they contact us. It is really strange that this person waited two and one half years to write a review to complain. But, we will still do our best to get to the bottom of their concerns and accommodate them if they will contact us. Thank you

My boyfriend and I were looking for an affordable weekend getaway up in Big Bear. Thank god for us this place was just what we were looking for! It was a very quaint looking cozy cabin. The cabin provided us with everything we needed and we had our own jacuzzi which was a plus. They also upgraded us to a larger cabin because the one we booked, the jacuzzi switch wasn't working. It was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely come back here again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable place.


-Just bring some extra blankets because the ones there are kind of thin.
