“Family Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2005

We have four children under 6. Our downstairs spa room was especially spacious, very clean and had an extra bedroom with a twin and doublebed perfect for the three older children. As a cautious mom, I check for outlets, unsafe edges on furniture, anything within reach immediately. The room, outside of the exposed fireplace was kid-friendly. The in-room spa provided a wonderful bath treat for the kids (and us) and the kitchenette met our needs perfectly. The room was large enough (and safe) so the kids could play on the floor; and the carpet went far beyond my expectation of clean. I was very impressed, my husband and children truly enjoyed themselves. Which was all I needed to enjoy myself. We will return.

The main office closes down at 9pm but a good number of guests arrive after 9, myself included, because most of us live in L.A., get off work at 5 or 6pm on a Friday, then head off to the mountains.

The sheets on our bed were washed BUT had menstrual blood stains on them that did not come out completely. Yuck.

The sheets in our fold-out sofa bed were NOT washed. It appeared clean at first, but the housekeeper did not look closely. It had hair and snoot stains from the previous guest. Yuck. I called the office but they seemed irked that I called the "emergency" number when it was not an emergency. Was I suppose to wait till morning???

The daytime staff however were very pleasant.

We were greeted at the desk by a very sweet young lady and the stay progressed from there...The room rate for shoulder season was very reasonable and the room was much nicer than we thought it would be especially for the price..Clean and a great location to the lake, village and the slopes...Very pleasant stay.

My wife and I were there in may 2003 and loved the place. The room was cozy but adequet, with a wood burning stove and a kitchenette. A queen bed and a loft with two twin beds. Although not lost in the forest it is set in a wooded area. There is a nice area on the property to relax and have a picnic or just sit around and visit. They even Had a large friendly cat. Would highly recommend. We plan to go again this year.

Stayed in one of the spa rooms. It was spacious, clean and had a mini kitchen also. It was so convenient. You could walk to the village to the restaurants and the stores. You can see the lake from the deck and it is really walkable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Oh, the skiing was only about a mile away. Can't wait to go back......

WEb Site claims it's "in the woods." Nothing could be further from the truth! Room was so small and dirty. We ended up getting our emergency blanket out of our car to put on bed (which was lumpy and had springs popping up). Room next to us (must have paper walls) stayed up all night and kept us up as well. Then, the smell of cigarette smoke came through our walls. We checked out early and went to some nice little B&B further into town (I think closer to the ski resort) and paid a little more and got a lot more. We got the royal treatment! We were able to salvage our trip.
