Definitely one of THE places to stay in the L.A. area. We paid an average of $255 per night for 4 nights. Our room was a deluxe king in the Wilshire Tower. The room was QUIET which is amazing given the busy location.

I can only say two mildly negative things about the hotel. 1) it is very busy with conventions, meetings, etc. and 2) self parking is $28 per night.

Everything else is a big thumbs up and I would definitely stay at the Beverly Hilton again.

This hotel is divided in to three distinctive room types. The Oasis Tower, small rooms away from the action, Pool Cabana rooms that are OK and open to the huge pool, and the Wilshire Tower centrally located, larger and plusher rooms. Most of the suites are in the Wilshire Tower as well.
I was originally booked in to a Wilshire double at $200.00 per night and thank God I had written confirmation of the reservation. When I arrived, the hotel was completely booked for my company's convention but somehow did not show a reservation for me in the system. They told me I was out of luck that the hotel was full. After speaking with the manger Chris, I persisted and showed proof I had indeed been booked in months in advance. Chris apologized for the 30 minute delay in getting us to our room and upgraded us to a corner suite on the 7th floor at no additional cost.
The room was plush and large, the bathroom was the size of Texas and all of the furnishings were classic comfy Hollywood. The hotel was built in 1955 so it has that retro modern vibe to it thanks to a multi million dollar renovation a few years ago.
The balcony was gigantic and wrapped around the corner of the hotel. We had views of Century City, Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills. It was a great place to have breakfast in the morning and cocktails at night. Soon after arriving Chris had sent up complimentary, fruit,nuts, wine and cheese. It was quite the spread and oh so delicious.
We ordered room service for breakfast and dinner a few times and it was some of the best we had ever had. I travel all over the US and only stay at luxery hotels so I was impressed with the food. The room was clean and service was excellent. We had turn down service for most every night we stayed and the Bose radio playing light jazz was a welcome entry after a long day of business and'or sight seeing.
A couple of notes: the hotel uses soft water which we love but makes the bath very slippery. The parking and internet fees are high at $ 25.00 each.
If you want to see celebs this is the hotel for you. The International Ballroom located right at the front entrance hosts an event of some sort virtually every night of the week.
Staying on my floor were First Lady Michele Obama, VP Joe Biden, White House COS Rahm Emanuel and the rock group Three Dog Night. Oh, and tons of Secret Service agents who don't talk much, believe me I tried! Would I stay again? Absolutely....

I had to spend 3 total weeks in Los Angeles but they weren't consecutive. My first run was with the Beverly Hilton. I booked the room without reading any reviews on here like I do now. I pretty much mapped out the area on Google and chose this for a variety of factors, none of which is why I give it a 5 out of 5.
Sure I've been in nicer hotels with grand lobbys and beautiful interior. Even ones with more comfortable beds and breath-taking scenery. But none of them offered the EXPERIENCE that you get at the Beverly Hilton. Most people make the mistake of booking a room in downtown Los Angeles not knowing that the only thing happening downtown is if there is an event going on at the Staples Center. That's it.
The Beverly Hilton is Grade A from the time you arrive until you are ready to leave. If you actually want to leave. You will see 6 figure $ cars parked out front every day. The valet staff is swift and helpful. Even on the nights where there is a huge event and they are really busy. They must have some sort of system worked out because I didn't have a problem with my rented car anytime it came to parking. The front desk staff is also incredible. I stayed there for 3 weeks so trust me, more than likely, I have had interaction with just about everyone who works there no matter what time of the day/night it was. The second time I booked, I was given a room with a view of a brick wall. I told them if there were any other rooms without that obstruction and there were. So they gladly let me switch. There is a respectable fitness center downstairs. I don't know when it's closed or even if it closes at all. Speaking of downstairs, lets get to the good stuff;
The restaurant serves an awesome breakfast. I usually just do the buffet when I'm on the road. Delicious!
If it's nice out, then you can eat poolside outdoors. It's even better at night, you got to see it to believe it. When night falls, Trader Vics come alive and certain nights, they'll have a live DJ which really brings the flavor. Then they beam a silent movie on the wall facing the swimming pool. I believe that pool is heated and you can stay in it rather late. The whole scene is just pure nirvana. And the thing is, you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to eat at the restaurant or to hang out at Trader Vics. Then there are all the functions that the hotel host. The red carpet affairs that attract celebrities and I saw quite a few. This is when being a guest is pivotal!
Security is tight at these high profile events and when you can prove you're a guest at the hotel, they can't tell you to stay outside or not to walk down this hall. Sure they have the red carpet blocked off from the general public but at least you are inside. This was a big thrill because I would come home from work sometimes and there's another gala event going on with limos out front and celebs inside posing for pics. You really do feel like a rockstar walking through there. This is the place to be in L.A.!
As far as the other items, you may have read on other reviews like location and attractions, then listen, there probably are nicer hotels for less money in town but they don't come close to bringing the over-all EXPERIENCE that the Beverly Hilton brings. Or perhaps I was lucky the 3 weeks I was there that so much went down?
I'll take that chance over and over again, even without the celebrity sightings.

We did a quick weekend at the Beverly Hilton. Hadn't stayed before, but the property is well known for lots of Hollywood functions including the Golden Globes. Hotel's lobby and interrior absolutely stunning. The pool, Trader Vic's lounge, menu and drinks just fabulous. Attentive service everywere in the hotel. Rooms are beautifully re-done and have great flat screen TV's. The only thing it didn't have is coffee makers in the rooms but everything else over-the-top fabulous. Worth every penny.
