Ok. After 4 nights in a 4* in Vegas we decided to "Luxe" it up a bit and booked 5 nights at The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows.
We booked through AMEX platinum concierge and recieved a very reasonable rate. We made a booking for a bungalow.
Upon arrival our luggage was whisked away by the porters, while we watched John Lovitz arrive for a game of tennis! Since we had arrived early and our room wasnt ready yet we decided to take a walk around the area. There isnt much in the immediate vicinity...but a 20min stroll took us into Beverly Hills shopping area where we found a starbucks and headed back with our coffees.
The entrance to the hotel is quaint. The staff are lovely with a good morning greeting from EVERY single 1...no exceptions. Check in was fast and smooth...no complications at all. We were escorted to our room, Bungalow 1c, where our luggage was already awaiting us and our coats had already been hung in the closet.
There was a large king bed with douvet, nice linens and fluffy feather pillows. Our room was decorated in creamy and gold colours with pinky walls. Sounds odd i know but looked lovely..i especially loved the shutters on all the windows. We had a large walk in wardrobe, giant marble bathroom with seperate w.c....a large walk in shower, 2 basins, and a spa bath. The ammenities were generous. Lovely exfoliating soap, creamy shampoo and bath gel as well as body lotion and shower cap. Basically there was everything in the room one would come to expect of a deluxe 5* hotel, they had missed nothing.
The hotel is set in acres of wonderful gardens lovingly attended to by gardening staff. There is a small spa where hubby and I both had massages we were very pleased with. The sap uses La Praire products. The pool area is well staffed and as with the whole hotel, absolutely immaculate.
We ate breakfast in both the 50's style diner and the famed Polo lounge, both were great. Hubby had drinks at the bar one night and enjoyed the atmosphere. We are room sevice lovers while on holidays and each time we ordered, our food arrived right on time and was hot and fresh. The kitchen staff at this hotel found no problems with us ordering some of our favourites that were not on the menu...all requests were met with "of course", which made me very happy!
One person we must give a special mention to was concierge Steve Martin. My hubby was desperate to acquire the new all sold out PS3...now we had looked EVERYWHERE...and even the Sony shop said there were none to be had till the new year...anyhow...on a long shot, hubby phoned the concierge and asked him if he could find one....WELL...20 mins later he rang our room back and had located one of them!!!!! Anyone who knows about these much sought after machines will know this was a gargantuan task. We were very impressed and hubby was over the moon. We left him a nice gift and a tip for his troubles.
I could go on and on about this wonderful hotel and the staff that work there, but the only way one can fully appreciate it is to stay there. We didnt see the regular rooms but Im sure they are lovely. If you can...spring for a bungalow...its a little slice of paradise in a very crazy city. For us it was all we could have asked for and we will definately be back again.
The BHH is the best of the best...enough said!
