We had a fabulous stay the week before Christmas at the Beverly Hills Hotel. We stayed in bungalow 20c - my only complaint was because of the record cold temperatures during our stay it was quite a chilly hike to the main building. The room was very large & comfortable and had a huge bathroom.
My husband and I took our 9 year old daughter to LA mainly to spend a day at the American Girl Place at the Grove. We had a great experience using the hotel limo (stretch) which even took us to the Grove which is over the 3 mile radius they offer service. We took the Warner Bros. VIP tour (only 20 min. drive), went to the Santa Monica Pier, & toured Hollywood. We felt like we were in the middle of everything. Stay at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire if walking is important to you - I prefer the limo - especially when shopping! We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire last year and loved it too. They are totally different experiences. There's a much more special and private ambiance at the Beverly Hills Hotel (and many more celebrity sightings). Can't go wrong with either though. Loved the food & drinks at the Polo Lounge and breakfasts at the Fountain Coffee room. Had dinners at Dolce and the Beverly Hills Farm and enjoyed both.

  • Liked — Large room, bathroom, tub, comfy beds, fabulous service, Polo Lounge, history
  • Disliked — Our bungalow had no balcony (most rooms don't)
  • Tips/Secrets: — Use the concierge and the complementary hotel limo!

Great location in the heart of Beverly hills. Hotel bar was star studded. Our room was a little on the small side by US standards. Concierge and bell boys were extremely helpful when our incoming flight lost our baggage. Would stay here again on next LA visit but would opt for a more expensive room.

  • Liked — Staff and Polo bar
  • Disliked — Basic room was a little on small side

Ok. After 4 nights in a 4* in Vegas we decided to "Luxe" it up a bit and booked 5 nights at The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows.

We booked through AMEX platinum concierge and recieved a very reasonable rate. We made a booking for a bungalow.

Upon arrival our luggage was whisked away by the porters, while we watched John Lovitz arrive for a game of tennis! Since we had arrived early and our room wasnt ready yet we decided to take a walk around the area. There isnt much in the immediate vicinity...but a 20min stroll took us into Beverly Hills shopping area where we found a starbucks and headed back with our coffees.

The entrance to the hotel is quaint. The staff are lovely with a good morning greeting from EVERY single 1...no exceptions. Check in was fast and smooth...no complications at all. We were escorted to our room, Bungalow 1c, where our luggage was already awaiting us and our coats had already been hung in the closet.

There was a large king bed with douvet, nice linens and fluffy feather pillows. Our room was decorated in creamy and gold colours with pinky walls. Sounds odd i know but looked lovely..i especially loved the shutters on all the windows. We had a large walk in wardrobe, giant marble bathroom with seperate w.c....a large walk in shower, 2 basins, and a spa bath. The ammenities were generous. Lovely exfoliating soap, creamy shampoo and bath gel as well as body lotion and shower cap. Basically there was everything in the room one would come to expect of a deluxe 5* hotel, they had missed nothing.

The hotel is set in acres of wonderful gardens lovingly attended to by gardening staff. There is a small spa where hubby and I both had massages we were very pleased with. The sap uses La Praire products. The pool area is well staffed and as with the whole hotel, absolutely immaculate.

We ate breakfast in both the 50's style diner and the famed Polo lounge, both were great. Hubby had drinks at the bar one night and enjoyed the atmosphere. We are room sevice lovers while on holidays and each time we ordered, our food arrived right on time and was hot and fresh. The kitchen staff at this hotel found no problems with us ordering some of our favourites that were not on the menu...all requests were met with "of course", which made me very happy!

One person we must give a special mention to was concierge Steve Martin. My hubby was desperate to acquire the new all sold out PS3...now we had looked EVERYWHERE...and even the Sony shop said there were none to be had till the new year...anyhow...on a long shot, hubby phoned the concierge and asked him if he could find one....WELL...20 mins later he rang our room back and had located one of them!!!!! Anyone who knows about these much sought after machines will know this was a gargantuan task. We were very impressed and hubby was over the moon. We left him a nice gift and a tip for his troubles.

I could go on and on about this wonderful hotel and the staff that work there, but the only way one can fully appreciate it is to stay there. We didnt see the regular rooms but Im sure they are lovely. If you can...spring for a bungalow...its a little slice of paradise in a very crazy city. For us it was all we could have asked for and we will definately be back again.

The BHH is the best of the best...enough said!

  • Liked — our bungalow, the gardens and the staff
  • Disliked — the t.v....the ONLY improvement needed at this hotel...Plasma!
  • Tips/Secrets: — ...make use of the amazing concierge Steve Martin.

My husband and I vacationed at the Beverly Hills Hotel and two other hotels in the Los Angeles/Santa Barbara area during late November 2006 and we were most impressed with the Beverly Hills Hotel. We stayed here first and wished we had spent the entire vacation there. The room rate was a special holiday rate, so our expectations were low, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the room and the service we received. The hotel is in a residential area, a mile or so from the Rodeo Drive shopping and restaurants, but the weather was pleasant, and we enjoyed walking to and from dinner through the Beverly Hills residential neighborhoods at night. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the Beverly Hills shopping area, which we did not use.

  • Liked — The size of the room and the amenities.
  • Disliked — The cost of food in the hotel and the lack of a coffee pot in the room.

What's not to love? Wonderful large room with a huge bathroom and separate shower and commode room, wonderful staff in every way. Breakfast in the Polo Lounge (my only meal there) was awesome, and the service was great. The pool is great too, with attendants who run around and do everything. The best part was the adjustable canvas "sun shades" that they will wheel in place by your chair to keep the sun out of your eyes. And on top of that, there is the sheer fabulousness of the place and the whole air of excitement that something IMPORTANT is always happening.
