“food is at best fair and service very poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2011

We ordered fish and duck as main courses. The fish came at a reasonable time the duck arrived 25 minutes later. The manager said the duck took 25 min. to cook. Should not the waiter have told us or placed the orders to arrive at the same time? We did get "free" leechees as a dessert. The noise is deafening inside. I would never go there again.

Tuesday late dinner date.

Easy to find street parking.

The atmosphere was nice, with a cozy patio with heat lamps keeping a comfortable temperature. Be forewarned you may have to operate the heat lamps yourself, as the staff seemed to only know how to turn off or on, not cooler or hotter.

The menu offers variety, without being overwhelming. The majority of the dishes are healthy, as several published reviews on this restaurant attest to.

We had the steamed dumplings as an appetizer. My date had the Xi'an beef tenderloin, and I had the Peking Duck. The food was excellent. The presentation, particularly with the Peking Duck in which the pancakes are spoon wrapped table side. Be forewarned to order sides or multiple dishes. The dishes are served to share. A family style meal would be appropriate here. Also a side of brown rice is only $1.

I enjoyed it. Didn't love it. My braised shrimp were good, but not spectacular. Chris ordered the X'ian Crispy beef and it was like burnt beef jerky.
