I was returning to Spago's from years past, so I wondered what it was going to be like. It was not as intimate as the restaurant had been before (years ago), but the food and service was fabulous with a lovely atmosphere! We had steak, lamb chops, fried eggplant, wonderful soup (ginger/carrot which was a sample) and a potatoe puree that was to die for. The wines I had were great. The only negative was that my husband's clams had sand in them, but when he mentioned it to our waiter, a manager immediately came out and thanked him for telling them early in their dinner service (we had a 5:30pm seating) so they could correct it. Very professional and comped his meal, which we had not asked for.
All in all, it's expensive, but worth it to go to a world-class restaurant every once in a while!
