“Decent Mexican”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2011 via mobile

It was just OK. I think it might have just been what we ordered. But, Tyra banks came in while we were there. That was exciting.

“Great Mexican food in an excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

Frida Mexican restaurant is located on South Beverly Drive, just south of the golden triangle, and the food here is excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming (especially David, who has been here for a number of years), and the vibe is lively without being loud.

The quality of food here is fantastic - the goat's cheese and mango salad with grapes and caramelized walnuts is AMAZING, and the chocolate chicken is legendary. The margaritas here are the best I've ever had - I arrived on a flight from the UK and felt my travel stress float away as soon after the first mouthful!

The restaurant has been redecorated since my last visit a year ago, and I have to say I much prefer the old style - the new abstract painting with gold details just doesn't look stylish or individual enough to add to the ambiance.

That's a minor quibble though - you come here for the food, and the food is first class. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to come in; this is the best Mexican food I've ever had!

“Too much noise”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

Unless you like a rowdy crowd avoid this place like the plague! As a couple we hope to dine here but found it too noise inside and did ask to be seated outside but found it too cold to dine out in the evening. So, went next door to eat instead.

“Expensive catsup.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2010

The red sauce on the enchiladas had all the flavor, or less, of catsup. The meat had little flavor. Chips were thick and tough. The salsas also had very little flavor or texture. We were greatly disappointed. I think their namesake, Frida Kahlo, would has been, as well.
