Stayed for another weekend in L.A. at the Mosaic. I was in town for a long weekend to see some of my close friends. The hotel is great because it always seems to be in the middle of where you want to be...a huge plus for L.A. It's a beautifully decorated and kept hotel...very clean...very comfortable. I spent my 3 days there being pampered by one of the most accomodating staffs I have come across. What's best about this place is that it is the real deal. No pretentiousness...no fake glitz. The people there genuinly like to take care of people and I always overheard them truly watching out for guests and making sure their stay was great. It's an atmosphere that becomes contagious and it creates a very social and comfortable feel...guests were always talking to eachother about their day and plans...and always giving advice and sharing smiles. All this and it is a steal of a deal for Beverly Hills...can't understand why anyone would stay anywhere else.

Thanks guys!

I might have been happy with the Mosaic had I not recently spent four nights in the Beverly Hilton. The Mosaic's rooms are smaller than the Hilton's and they simply aren't as stylish and luxurious. The pool, the lobby and the hotel restaurant are much nicer at the Hilton as well.

Overall, the Mosaic doesn't do the little things well enough. The reservation in their system didn't match what I actually booked. Fortunately, my printed confirmation listed the two nights I reserved vs. the one they had in the system since they were sold out! There aren't any HD channels for the hi-def television and the room has an odd smell which is probably a result of the cleaning products they use. The air conditioner comes on with a loud click and makes a bit of a racket.

The Mosaic is an attractive, small hotel and it is well located in Beverly Hills. Despite the negatives, I would recommend the hotel if you want to stay in this area and you like a more intimate experience than you are likely to get at the larger hotels.

Staying in this hotel is like staying with family that you really like. The hotel is small and intimate with the most gracious staff I have ever encountered.
The rooms are warm, cozy and very well appointed with flat panel televisions, frette linens and bose sound systems. All the comforts of home.
Located on a quiet residential street, with easy access to the freeway, Hollywood, West Hollywood and the fabulous shopping of Rodeo Drive.
The hotel also provides a house car (Range Rover) to drive you to area resturants and local hot spots. You'll feel like a celebrity.
Book a suite with a balcony overlooking the pool so you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee and newpaper.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and it has become my favorite place to stay in Beverly Hills. Nice rooms, great beds, best location. I can walk two block to the bar at the Peninsula - or to one of 20 restaurants - and this hotel feels like an Oasis - at 1/2 to 1/3 the price.

Admitedly, we were a little spoiled, checking into the Mosaic after 3 amazing days at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica.

I chose this hotel based on the Trip Advisor feedback and I have to say, this is the first time that advice has steered me wrong.

The staff at this hotel just rubbed me the wrong way from the minute I walked in the door. While checking in, I noticed the "Preferred Hotels" plaque and I told the clerk that I was an "I Prefer" member. This is supposed to entitle me to a room upgrade, late check out, and other supposed benefits. His response was a shrug.

The room was okay. Nicely decorated. I thought the assortment of toiletries at crazy prices was a bit of overkill. But I did like the shower and the overall layout of the bathroom. The location was a little outside of the major Beverly Hills action. I guess that could be a pro or con, depending on how you feel about BH.

One thing that really disguested me was that no one picked up the room service trays. There was a tray that remained outside our door (across the hall) for at least 24 hours. It was joined by several others in the morning. That's just gross.

We spent $295 plus parking and I have to say my experience was just "meh". This place is one step away from being a Radisson. I wouldn't stay here again.
