“Not the same at all”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Just tried some macarons at 'lette in Newport Beach, CA. We love the macarons at both Laduree and Le Notre in Paris, also at department stores in London. But these do not have the true, intense flavors and the ganache that holds them together doesn't match each flavor as it does in Europe. Over there they are kept in refrigerated cases and can not be shipped, so they are not really made of the same ingredients. Also, desserts in France are rarely as sweet as in the USA.
I do hate to say all this as I realize that not everyone can get over there but you could not buy clothes, sodas, movie tickets, fancy cosmetics, etc. and save up for a bargain winter ticket to Paris and find out the difference for yourself.

“TASTY TREATS IN 90210”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Locals and tourists alike flock to Paulette’s patisserie on Beverly Drive to savor these sweet, chewy, melt-in-the mouth morsels of pure joy. Macarons, crisp little biscuits, are a specialty of the Lorraine region in France. Pastry chef Christophe Michalak, winner of the 2005 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, is taking the macaron into the twenty-first century with vivid colors and natural infusions. They come in a rainbow assortment of alluring flavors from Caribbean chocolate to Sicilian pistachio. Indulge yourself!

“Big mistake to order from here for shipment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2010

Don’t even think about ordering macarons for shipment from Paulette. After paying $34 for shipping for $36 worth of macarons, I waited until they arrived via overnight Federal Express shipping. Unfortunately, every macaron had its filling melted. The melted fillings all blended together into a gooey mess in the plastic box that they were in. The cookie part of the macarons self-destructed on contact. The reason: absolutely no care or thought was put into the shipping technique – just a flimsy gift box in a cardboard outer box filled with Styrofoam peanuts. I checked – other places that ship macarons use ice packs or insulation to help them survive shipment. Not Paulette. This special dessert, which was for a special French dinner at home, was ruined. I called Paulette to complain, and spoke to one of the clerks, telling her about the problem. She said Paulette was not there, but as soon as she returned from wherever she was, they would discuss it and call me. Later that day, I received a voice mail message stating that I would receive a full refund on my credit card. 10 days later, no credit. This time I sent them an email so I would have documentation. Twice. No reply. So I filed a dispute with the credit card company. If you need macarons, search a little bit – you will find better places that take better care of their shipments. A well known department store in New York on 5th Avenue ships them. Other places do too. Don’t waste time and money like I did, and have your special occasion ruined.
