My wife, who'd been here before, had been wanting to take me for some time. We were really pleased, as it turned out to be one of those meals where each bite is better than the one before.
We arrived during happy hour 3-6pm (and 9p to close), and the house speciality cocktails were great (a Derby and a Mescalito, if memory serves).
As it's a bbq place, we ordered accordingly: a two-way of Kansas City style ribs and brisket, with sides of mac-and-cheese and broccoli rabe. The ribs were great. My wife was a little underwhelmed with the brisket, but I liked it a lot. Everything was super tender, juicy, tasty. The mac-and-cheese was a little runny; problems with the roux, perhaps. The broccoli rabe was very good.
The peach crisp for dessert was great, and was definitely big enough to share.
Our server was excellent, with helpful suggestions. That the other servers were equally aware of the room, backed our server up when she was busy, and all seemed to be having fun, I took as a very good sign.
Overall, we were really glad we went, and will definitely be back.
