“Fred Flintstone Sized Ribs”

TRex is a fun place. The food is inconsistent from visit to visit but can be very good. The bar is great. Ambiance is fun a bit loud but overall good.

“Undergoing new management and food is mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We have been here before and the food seemed better in the past. The restaurant is undergoing new ownership and hopefully this will restore the quality to the restaurant. Most recently we were there for a Sunday Brunch and the food was OK but not as good as in the past. Service was slow because there was a large party and as a result the overall service was slow. The server was pleasant and apologized for the slower than usual service, but it appeared to be a staffing issue. I know it's hard to anticipate staffing needs, but to be short handed only makes the experience worse.

The interior is showing some wear and needs refreshing. It has a very nice upstairs area for dining but they don't really maximize the attractiveness of the area.

“Awesome Barbeque”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The food here is great, I went in a skeptic and left pleasantly surprised and full. We had the brisket sandwich and shared a dish of macaroni and a serving of corn bread just to try it. Lets just say it was wonderful. The service was terrific and we had a seat that allowed us to view the preparation. Go in and try stuff on the menu by sharing dishes the food is great!

“Good food, but they keep removing favorites from the menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

The pulled pork sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, and burgers are my 3 favorite. They used to have a fantastic smoked salmon omelet on the brunch menu, but then changed it to chicken, and now it has spinach in it instead. We were most sad when we went for the salmon and found it had been removed. Same goes for the espresso custard beignets. No more espresso custard, now they have some sort of caramel sauce which is just not as good as the espresso.

During tomato season they have a BLT with heirloom tomatoes that is great!

The upstairs seating is nice and they have an outdoor patio that is great if not too windy. Bring sunglasses though if sitting outside. The tables are reflective!

They have a huge bar. Ask to look at the whiskey book!

Great place for Happy Hour, especially if you can sit on the balcony. Loved the unusual cocktails & great oysters!!
