i was sent to this hotel for 2 weeks stay, in my first day when i walked in i felt this horrible smell of skunk in the lobby. i checked in and got to this 1960 years old elevator with molding in. My first night i notice a lot of action on hallway and i started wondering and went out to check myself and there were hookers in and out. Every time when i was getting out of my room there were this bad smell of skunk, i mean really bad. My second day i notice that was a pet friendly hotel and there were this couple in one of those rooms with two dogs and sometimes i could listen to her loud voice cussing and fighting and sometimes she let the dogs out in the hallway and closed her door. Third day the same lady was yelling at the dogs in the hallway early 5 am. I crossed with this beautiful lady waiting in front of the door across my room and i heard the saying how much she was going to charge him, when i stepped she got in and 40 min later she came out and i noticed there was hooker. I never seen all kind of weird people staying in the laquintas like this one. Also i saw cops coming in few times and check some the rooms. I guess this hotel is loosing business to a Motel 6.
Furniture and tv are 20 years old , shower was falling a part, etc... I was very disappointed with this hotel and it is probably 100 year old. If you want to stay with your family just find a better place or sleep in the car. Just giving 2 star because it is good location and by the marina. I feel very bad for the staff, but i know they need work to pay their bills. If for some reason you decide to stay, first just walk in the lobby and you'll feel this skunk smell and than you make a decision whether to stay or not.

The hotel is located on a busy street near the freeway, Amtrak, Berkeley Marina, restaurants and shops. This is an older hotel and it could use some updating. It is a comfortable stay for the value. Good breakfast, friendly front desk staff and house keeping does a good job cleaning. The only negative is the wi-fi is very weak and sometimes not available at all.

Room Tip: Hotel is near Amtrak - Union Pacific railroad and if you are a light sleeper, it can get noisy.

Pet friendly....CLEAN...super nice staff......relaxed and comfortable...the NICEST lady serving a yummy daily breakfast......GREAT LOCATION! I used to stay at the Claremont Hotel on discount Priceline, but after the hidden valet and " spa fees" that are silently slipped in a note to you under the door THE NEXT MORNING of your stay, it is nice to be in a place that is JUST AS QUALITY ...sans a few overpriced restaurants in the lobby and tip eager valets.....the rooms are definantly comparable and overall as clean and accommodating. Thanks LA QUINTA for being a great place to stay....

The staff is what makes this hotel take the top spot in my book. It is an older hotel and has it's quirks, but the staff go above and beyond in making up for it. We checked in with a late reservation, extended our stay, asked for extras, and got everything we asked for and more. Great value, easy to find, and awesome staff. We definitely will stay here for any future visits to the Bay Area.

Had room 327 was very quiet, clean and well maintained. Did not have a flat screen. Shower was very good, had a mini frig and microwave. Front desk very helpful when I needed a cab.
would stay again. It was very close to the Marina- less than 5 min. Since I was attending a conference at Hs Lordships this hotel worked out well.

Room Tip: I asked for a room that was quiet and away from the elevator and my wish was granted.
