My wife and I went here last night for dinner for Valentine's Day. We're here in Berkeley and originally was going to go to SF to go eat dinner but most of the nicer places couldn't get us in before 10:30 PM even calling a few weeks ago since it was Valentine's Day so we opted to go here as the reviews were positive.
Firstly, the restaurant can be a bit difficult to find. It's in this huge building that has 800 Heinz on the entire building so first we thought we were in the wrong area. It's in West Berkeley right across the pre-school. The building has other things in it so look for the pre-school and it's in front of it.
The restaurant itself isn't too big. They have two separate areas separated by a curtain. A high loft like space. The servers were friendly. The food took some time to come out from appetizer to dinner it took a good 35 minutes. The restaurant was full since it was Valentine's Day.
Their menu seemed a bit limited. Maybe they had a special menu only for Valentine's Day but I expected more to choose from. Still both our dishes were good.
I got a pasta dish and my wife got a Shrimp dish. The fresh bread they had was very good. Especially good was this olive oil they made in-house. I heard the lady next to me ask if they sold it and they said yes. It was so good I asked to buy a bottle but they said they were all out. It was very good. I'll probably come back to buy a few bottles. ($18 @).
All in all the food was good and I'd come back again. We also got the lemon pie dessert and it was also yummy.
