“Fun and horses”

What do you want besides a nice track, some fun betting and hopefully some winning... This is easy to get to and a nice club house too.

“Next Best Thing To Owning Your Own Race Horse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

You can walk right up close to see these amazing animals. It is easy to be swept up in the excitement of watching your horses swiftly circling the track. You can bet as little as you want. So,it doesn't have to cost much to have a great day at the track.

“Turf Club”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

A co-worker treated two of us for St. Patrick's Day at the Turf Club. We had window seats overlooking the track, mimosas and a grand buffet were included. The food was surprisingly good from the Corned Beef & Cabbage to the sliced Prime Rib and a nice selection of salad fixin's and veggies.

I usually go for "Dollar Sundays": Parking, admission, programs, hot dogs, beer or sodas, ALL one dollar each - no limit! And a great band playing between races! Can't beat that for an inexpensive, FUN Sunday.

“People Watching for Expert People Watchers (Only $1)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Sunday is dollar day. For less than the price of a candy bar, Golden Gate Fields provides more people watching excitement than the whole of the Bay Area. Oh, and there are ponies to enjoy as well.

So what exactly is dollar day? On Sundays, there exists a stand run by the Rotary Club which provides dollar sodas, dollar waters, dollar hot dogs, and dollar Miller Lites. Give to a great organization, have a few beverages, and enjoy the wildly varied clientele that take in the races. There is a cross section of the population that I have never seen before. Marina broads with hats and sundresses, degen gamblers with panic written on their face, and families looking to have a day in the sun all exist in dollar harmony.

A great experience worth experiencing and sharing with anyone in the Bay Area.

...it is worth noting that the reason this review is not a perfect 5 of 5 is that the $1 parking is super hard to find. The signs are not intuitive. Instead of getting lost for the savings, I opted for the $8 valet parking. It was the easier decision at the time, but cost a bit more than I had expected. Nonetheless, a one point deduction was warranted.
