“Science and a View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Fun museum for children who really want to get involved with hands on activities. But from an adult perspective the VIEW is amazing from the grounds of the museum. On a clear day, you can see all of the Bay Area and with the help of a location guide map you can discern all important landmarks. If it's a clear day and you want a place to show your out of town guests a view I would say pack everyone up in the car and head to the Lawrence Hall of Science. Learn a bit and take in the view!

“Love this place... lots of hands-on activities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

I am from San Francisco and I have to say that this place is the best children's science museum that I have visited so far. Much better than SF's own new Academy of Science...

The main difference is that for the Lawrence Hall of Science, you get to DO and they offer a lot of hands-on activities... while other museums, sometimes, just allow you to "watch" and "observe" and that's it... I would love to send my kids to lawrence hall of science for summer camps or winter camps in the future (which I know are SUPER popular...)

“Fun for elementary school age and younger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

I used to come to Lawrence Hall of Science all the time when I was a child. I absolutely loved all the hands-on exhibits. I had a chance to take my 13 year son there this past weekend and was pleased to see that there are still tons of hands-on educational exhibits. Unfortunately 75% of the exhibits are geared for smaller children so my son really had to work hard at finding things to do to keep himself entertained. As a result, it took us about 1 hour to complete both floors of the center, including the book store.

I gave a rating of 4 stars because the Lawrence Hall of Science is a fantastic place, just not for a 13 year old boy.
