Old Town Benicia finally offers a fantastic B&B. There are several reasons that this inn provides a pleasant stay. The hosts, Steven and Christina, who are long-time Benicians, are very congenial and they really care that you have a great time with them. Although their website indicates continental breakfasts, Christina usually prepares something with a little more substance - good food and great conversation. They certainly make you feel at home. As others have stated, the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. A small refrigerator contains a couple of bottles of water - offered at no extra charge (how often do you get that in a chain motel/hotel?). The front lobby is very cute and Steven is known to pour a top-shelf drink or night cap for guests. The Inn's location provides for easy walking to several restaurants - Lucca's is one of my favorites for lunch. The Benicia Marina is close and there are many little shops to explore on First Street. The Inn does not allow pets. You are going to pay a little more for a night's stay at this inn, BUT IT IS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY!
