“too noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

When we checked in we asked for a quiet room and were given a large room at the back of the property. Room was large and clean. Balcony however was filthy. Turned out HWY 99 was just yards from our room and the noise kept us awake all night. Even with earplugs. The check in agent must have known this wasn't a quiet room so why assign it to 2 elderly people? The property is not in keeping with the Days Inn properties we have used many times. Not up to the Wyndam standard. Hallways dirty and dark. Lobby nice and clean and free breakfast was okay with waffles, donuts, dry cereals, instant cereals, coffee, juice, tea,and oranges. Courtyard around pool was cleaner than the rest of the place. Quite a few fast food places close by. Property used by several work crews who stay full time

The receptionist at check it was fantastic, she was so nice, unfortunately for there it was all downhill. The room and fittings are badly in need of updating, there were 2 coach parties staying so noise levels we a little high. Breakfast was a nightmare, the selection was poor there was no hot option and with the 2 coach parties I barely got a coffee or a Danish. The staff at checkout were the most rude and ignorant I have ever met. No hello or greeting even after I had given one, then I was TOLD to sign the bill I couldn't even view it no goodbye or how was your stay, a total opposite to the lady on the previous night. Taking all that into account if your looking for a one night stop go elsewhere as this place have far too many negatives.

This was a decent hotel. Make sure you get a room facing the terrace. We had a room which the porch was facing the bowling alley and it was just terrible. It wasn't so bad on Thursday night but on Friday the noise from loud partiers and music bumping from cars was just terrible. The room was clean although the bed comforter was a bit itchy. I think it was just the material. The rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves which we were used to at the hotel across the street, the Rodeway Inn. The pool is much bigger and nicer at the Days and the breakfast is much better too.

We stopped after being in Sequoia for the day. The lobby was nice but the rest of the place was dated. The patios dirty and no chairs. Our room faced the rear parking lot which was very large because there was a bar called the Martini lounge there. We asked the front desk about this cause it looked a little seedy and were told it was a safe area. Later that evening crowds started gathering and very loud music (rattled the windows). Loud motorcycles going by and very loud people. After finally falling asleep despite the loud music we were awakened by police sirens in the parking lot about 2am. We discussed that with the front desk at morning checkout and were told that its a busy area and they offered nothing not even an apology for the terrible night.

I'll start with the good. It was easy off easy on highway 99. The pool was very big and inviting. The keys were so different and easy to use, I liked them. The beds were very comfortable.

My sister-in-law made the reservations for 3 rooms and we met her and the other family members there. We were told to go in the side gate and to go upstairs, this is where the bad things started. The first thing I noticed was when we tried to go up the stairs, the first step was missing. At the top of the stairs I noticed that the painted floor of the outside corridor was incredibly dirty with spills all over the place, this could have been taken care of with a mop and bucket. The dirty condition of the corridors went on all over the property. We went to the pool after dinner and it was just as dirty as the corridors, all the tables were totally filthy .

After waking around the property we went to our separate rooms and the first thing I did was check out the condition of the room. On first inspection it seemed clean but then i started noticing little things, the whole bottom of the shower curtain rod had rust spots, more rust spots under the bathtub handles in the grout, rust spots under the bathroom sink on the floor, bathroom sink had multiple cracks in the porcelain.

The carpet in the room was so dirty that after walking barefoot for a while my feet were so black it was disgusting.

With a lot of work from the maintenance dept and housekeeping and careful inspection from the manager this place could be nice

I would never stay here again!!!

We found this hotel in a coupon magazine after arriving from Yosemite National Park. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the second floor which was clean apart from a dead roach we found the next morning.
The continental breakfast was quite big compared to other hotels, which is a big plus for us.
With use of the coupon, this hotel had great value for the price we paid.

Arriving at 1am, we were desperate for a bed to sleep in and this place was the first option we found on booking.com. If you're in the mood for a time machine trip back to the 70s then this is your spot, unfortunately the 70s have passed and so has this property's expiration date. In dire need of a renovation, even what little is offered for breakfast will leave you wanting much more. The one trend I cannot stand with a handful of hotels these days are the half-sized pillows; if i wanted a throw pillow I'd sleep on a couch -- please banish these mini-pillows to the darkest pits of purgatory! Gripes aside, the pool area is pretty decent and the water was refreshing.
