“AAA Disaster”

We stayed 1 night in July. When we saw our room we were quite simply shocked. The people at the desk had conflicting stories why the ice machine was broken, why there was no hot water. The windows, walls, carpets, doors both inside and out were filthy. I contacted AAA about this property. In a written letter back to me they said. We are aware that the property is not up to out standards. We gave the property owner a warning in October of 2007. They have one year to comply. Umm hello. this is July of 2008. I thought I could trust AAA. But obviously not.

We used this hotel because we had a $59 voucher and I'm the first to admit you get what you pay for.

To start with, the 'free WiFi' didn't work. Maybe it works with a laptop, but I was using a PDA and the WiFi setup at the hotel didn't let it connect. Every other hotel was fine, only this one had a problem.

Next up, the hot tub (right next to the main road, but we wanted a soak before going out for a meal) wasn't hot. The person behind the desk said that 'they had been working on it but it should be OK'. Well, it was cold.

The bath in the room had jets and a switch to make them go, but they didn't. The man at the desk said that it didn't work and that class of room (presumably the voucher class) didn't include a jacuzzi bath. Fair enough, but why not replace the switch with a blanking plate so that it's clear that it doesn't work?

Saying all that, the bed was actually pretty comfortable. Even so I'd suggest going elsewhere - this place really has nothing to recommend itself.
