We stayed at Culburra & enjoyed the early morning walk & sunrise. Its the most beautiful part of the day. As the sun pokes his head above the horizon to say good morning, there is a feeling of relaxation & before the day has begun, you can smell the earth & all it has to offer. Beautiful

“A Lovely Long Sandy Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

Culburra is about a half hours drive from Nowra. It has a large long sandy beach with sandhills running behind, like any NSW south coast beach really. It has two areas for swimming one at its northern end at Crookhaven Heads and one down the far end off Penguin Head Road. There is a good child friendly swimming area at Tilbury cove at the far eastern end of the beach.

There are a few cafes in Culburra (recommend Benny's) though nothing really worth mentioning. The attractions are the lovely Culburra Beach, Penguin Head rock platform, Warrain surf beach and Lake Wollumbulla.

“Stayed at The Beach House Culburra -Great Early Morning Walk , Peaceful, Calm & back for breakfast with the Birds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

I did this walk in Oct 2012. I stayed at The Beach House Culburra. Woke up to see the Sunrise over the Ocean from my bed, it was just peaking above the waves. I Strolled down from the house onto the beach , very peaceful walking on the beach early morning. Time to think & enjoy life while you walk with the sand between your toes. The air is crisp & cool at 6am in the morning.

On my travels I meet & had a chat to the locals walking their dogs on Culburra Beach. I love the light at that time in the morning, fantastic photo spot.
Walked down to Tilbury Cove & back to The Beach House via the sand dunes ready for a cuppa & breakfast on the back deck with the local birds.

Lovely way to start the day . Very relaxing place really didn't want to come home.

Accommodation charges apply if you stay at The Beach House Culburra, views are to die for. But you can do this walk for free . Just start at the end of Eastwood avenue & walk onto the council track to the beach & off you go.

Culburra Beach is a dog friendly Beach.

Enjoy. I did.
Walk is Free to do from the Marina Reserve behind

Suits all people, couples, family with young kids, family with teens, friends, dogs & solo.
